Can bioluminescent organelles even produce enough energy to help photosynthesis?

If there are cubs around or is mating season hervivores can get really territorial. Also the behavior is gonna be determined by the behavior editor and auto evo i think.

I mean, unless we just make humans (or human-like creatures) have the most options for politics, we need to add options for other types of species, otherwise ants would have very limited politic options and that could be boring.

An issue with that would be figuring out some ideological options humans couldn't have.

I think the crashes you are experiencing have to do with the game crashing sometimes when creating a new microbe, due to stuff that should be initialized but isn't. This is a known issue.

The fact that all species are white in this release is because of a graphical glitch (the same that makes engulfment not paint the microbe blue or taking damage red like in previous versions of the game).
The npc microbes are supposed to have random colours.

Filopodia (they are rod like structures on the surface of most bacteria that can allow them to "glide" also very damaging to other unprotected organisms) Trichocysts(Trichocysts are thought to have evolved from cilia. they are basically biological harpoons that are attached to the cells membrane. they can spear other cells for anchoring or catching smaller prey)(I think the only way to make this fair is that they cost a lot of ATP to fire/prepare and cant be reused)(seen in some ciliates and dinoflagellates) Special Fibres in cell:
psuedopodia (can only be placed on the cell membrane and can be stretched to move and surround/engulf other organisms)(Example organism = Amoeba) Myomene (fibers in the cell allow it to contract very fast and also expand but at a slower rate. useful in long protrusions that contract very fast and pull the organism with it and can be used for very fast movement if you are anchored to another object) (Example organism = Vorticella) The Trichocysts could be fun when combined with the bonding agent, you could fire them strategically at something and then suicide those cells for resources. The bonding agent vacuole would be a cool organelle too now that i think of it.

I think the idea is to make chloroplast change colours automatically depending on the sky colour, which would be determined by the planet generation or the user or the RNGods. And dont forget thermoplasts, for us LAWK haters

In medieval: total war (the first one, with the sprites ) when a civil war broke up, you got to choose a side. Something like that could be made in thrive to make the player switch the capital city.

That's an issue with the current process system, where the co2 is considered useless (and dumped) by the microbe regardless of whether it has chloroplasts or not. It should be fixed in the next release.

Of course, the country that uses the weapon could get a massive stability hit for doing such things (although depending on how they feel about the enemy it could be a boost, if they're doing a holy crusade for example).
It would also make other people hate you, either because they liked the target, because they hate those methods of war or simply because they wanted a reason to declare war on you and take your stuff.

One of the things that bugged me the most in Fallout 4 was the fact that both the settlements and the weapons look like something taken from operation: knd, especially the coastal cottage settlement. That and Preston "wtb do you want now" Garvey.

I think the idea is to assume that whatever you do (and you get done to you) while playing as your microbe is what happens with the rest of the microbes of your species (on average).
That way, if for example, you kill some members of species A for compounds it's assumed that your species hunted species A, and so the CPA system will act accordingly (making their population count decrease while your species populations increase, in this case). The reverse would happen if they kill you.
However i'm not a theorist, so they could have some other design in mind for the player.

Also as Atrox said many of the people who work on the graphics are not also part of the team working on programming new features into the game. I'm actually crodnu, but i got turned into a lippy toucan by an evil mod xD
