The Rautiza slows down, finally becoming calmed, but that may prove to be a fatal mistake as the Tyranite now has a perfect opening to strike. The small arthropod is caught and struggles, but its armor prevents it from applying much force onto its attacker. It seems that it will become the larger predator's first catch of the day.
The infested Scavenger gets sand all over his body and the Bear Trap spores, but they still refuse to remove themselves, however should he notice the spores seem to protect his skin from the irritating grains in what extremely small areas they cover. A particularly hard impact on his tail makes the spore jump, its dormant instinct to strike on impact activating even in this highly infantile state.
Some of the Purpleweed pods have emerged under Noofuzz spores on the tree's bark, these spores sense the new nutrients underneath, and start to try attaching to the pod and try to get inside. Any Bear Trap spores have long since died due to malnutrition on the bark.

Unbeknownst to the Scavenger, the extended soaking has stunted the growth of the attached Bear Trap spores. These spores are primarily located around the knot on its tail, its chest, and along the top edge of its beak. They remain rooted, but their scent is now diluted due to the soak in the water, and their nutrient draw has decreased dramatically. They will continue to grow over the course of a couple weeks, but how this has affected them remains to be seen.

The loose spores of both species get shaken off of the Scavengers and onto the floor of the jungles in their panic. However, this very humid environment makes it hard for both Noofuzz and Bear Trap to take root in the soil. Some of the early rooters get torn off of their hosts and fall into the jungle, where their roots are unable to properly embed them in the ground after the trauma and thus they will shrivel up and die eventually. However, a mere handful of Bear Traps remain firmly rooted on one singular Scavenger.

The numerous spores simply continue to float in the air, some buffeted by the wings of the Scavengers, while others manage to find purchase on the creatures. The Noofuzz for their part simply sit there, while a select few amongst the Bear Traps start to send out root-like tendrils from their spores and into their unwitting hosts. This is a rare behavior for the moss-like hybrids, one that has never impacted their evolution before. Those that get rooted and aren't removed will begin taking nutrients from the bloodstream of their hosts in larger and larger amounts as they grow. Only a select few Scavengers are playing host to these individuals, and even then not every Bear Trap spore on them has taken root.
The disturbance to the wind currents has made the dispersal of these two species more erratic around some select areas of the forest and coastal areas.

The Rautiza continues into open water, unaware of the imminent danger, its eyes mostly situated on top of its head meant to detect any form of predator coming in from above rather than directly ahead. Still slightly startled, it swims towards and to the right of the Tyranite.
Meanwhile, in the forests, the Noofuzz starts to spread further and further along the ground, it's time for spores to be released. Sensing the change, the Bear Traps prepare to do the same. Large clouds of spores are ejected into the air, and become caught in the subtle wind currents that carry them up and up. Some land on the trunks of the surrounding trees, some in the shade, while others make their way to the coast and the highlands. Here those that survive take root and start to form the beginnings of the two species underground. In the forest, however, some of these spores have become latched onto the tree infected by Purpleweed, but are unable to truly take root in the firm bark.

Unable to truly distinguish what these are in its primitive sight, the Rautiza flees away from the Waywardian stem cells, interpreting it as a form of attack. Unfortunately, it has fled towards open water and more danger than its own evolution has prepared it for. Likely into the path of the approaching Tyranite.

The Rautiza sees the movement of the Waywardian and is startled momentarily, backing away, mouth plates opening and closing rapidly to suck in some of the free-floating algae and plankton. After another moment, the curious filter feeder approaches where it last saw the movement, now distracted away from the Triceragaster's presence.

The Bear Trap Moss and their Noofuzz compatriots do nothing to stop the Purpleweed, simply continuing through their life cycle of feeding on sunlight in clearings as well as any organism that dares to enter those clearings in the case of the former.
The Rautiza continue their filter feeding ways, completely unaware of the approaching Tyranites, however, one manages to get the correct angle on a Triceragaster to get a good look at it. Curious at this discovery, it attempts to swim closer to it and the algae patch it protects.

Since most of the action seems to be concentrated in the water at the moment, I'll add in another:
Name: Rautiza
Description: A simple arthropod from another world, the Rautiza grows about as long as two human hands set end-to-end, and is covered in flanged plates along its sides that aid in in movement through the water in an undulating up and down motion. It's head has two bulbous compound eyes that let it see in the water, though it's rather short-sighted and can't see very well directly in front of it. Its shape is relatively uniform, but tapers at the end in four longer plates that act as a sort of tail. Its entire body is covered in these segmented plates that act as a sort of armor, however, it is a filter feeder. It uses two plates across its mouth cavity that open rapidly and suck in algae and plankton. When it comes time to breed, they spawn much like fish on Earth do. They make their home around the shallows of oceans as well as around reefs.
The current batch of hundreds of thousands of Rautiza have been released. Somewhat confused at first, they head towards the shallows, where they take shelter in little alcoves or in whatever reefs might exist. After a while, some start to venture out and start feeding on plankton and algae they can find free floating in the water.

many batis, young and old, fell down through the sky, wind rushing past them. Soon they managed to get their wings out and slowed their fall. descending to the lower part of the forest, they saw a thick moss covering the forest floor. wondering if they could eat it, an old batis flew down and tried to nip at it. Right at the moment it touched the moss, a strange spike thing came out of the moss and murdered the batis. They didn't know where they were, or how they got there, but they knew that this place was dangerous. Very, very dangerous. Having caught its first meal, the Bear Trap settles in to digest, having clamped down much like its namesake on the prey that touched it. It will stay in such a position until the prey is completely sucked dry of nutrients, then it will relax and fall back into place amongst the moss.

The seeding of both Noofuzz and their companion Bear Traps has also gone smoothly. The former spreads along the forest floor and forms great blankets wherever it can find patches of sunlight, while the latter take shelter there, photosynthesizing through their covering moss and lying in wait for an unfortunate prey item to come by and step on it.

Here we go, gonna start off relatively small, though not necessarily tame.
Name: Bear Trap Moss
Description: An inhabitant of temperate forest floors, the Bear Trap Moss is a very simple organism in terms of evolution, but has taken an evolutionary step very few to possibly no other has. It appears as a round patch of mossy ground about half a meter in diameter, but underneath is the organism itself. It is semi-bonded with the Noofuzz Moss that grows on top of and around it, using the Noofuzz as a cover as well as a trickle of sustenance from photosynthesis. However, what the Bear Trap hides inside its body is what's most extraordinary, a simple cardiovascular and nervous system much like a simple animal. This system is specialized into making the organism curl up, or more often, spontaneously fold in half when trod upon. What makes this action deadly, however, are a number of calcified spikes that spring out from the organism's interior in an attempt to pierce the hide of prey. These spikes then inject a mixture of toxins and digestive enzymes into the prey as the Bear Trap stays latched on. It is through these wounds that the Bear Trap will digest its prey from the inside out. During times of plenty, these organisms can be seen in clusters of up to 18 individuals, turning a wide area of forest floor into a veritable minefield. During times of famine, these organisms start to release spores containing their complete genome, creating new individuals from these spores that are launched up and into the wind, and hopefully into an area with more plentiful food. These spores, while able to easily catch the wind, are not at all adapted to arid or cold environments and thus will die if they enter these conditions or stay in them for too long.
Name: Noofuzz Moss
Description: A simple moss from the same planet as the above organism. A light brown in color and likes to grow on the ground. Reproduces via spores just like the Bear Trap.

Pardon my saying so, but if this is a game/RP then it should probably go in the Forum Games section, not Fan Worlds. Unless I'm totally clueless and this fits perfectly in Fan Worlds.

Say, didn't some of the population of the Crouton Empire convert to Ascon when the Ascari invaded? I swear I saw something about them sending missionaries and converting some of the populations to rebel in the war description. Or did I miss something regarding that that made them a non-factor?
EDIT: Also the Ekalan Cities and the Navapran City-States are described as Stable when their status says their stability is Shaky.

The Thrive forum was the very first forum I joined, so after that my usernames have become variations on the one I used then and use now on this forum. I'm something of a dragon fan so that pretty much explains, and Immortal_Dragon sounded like a very cool name to me back then and thus I've sort of stuck with a similar theme.

He may have done but, oh well. Also, Nick is it possible to post the round even if not everyone has given a brief history because they might not be checking that often and so it could take a while for them to get back. Perhaps tagging them might help get their attention? Just a thought on my part.
