Hello everyone!
We are introducing a timeline system to the TU! Now you can add a History section to your submissions and create events. The Thrive Universe uses BSE and ASE to label the timeline. BSE and ASE stands for Before Space Expansion and After Space Expansion, respectively. 2050 AD, the year Humans started using FTL technology, is 1 ASE. When writing up events, history, or lore, be sure to keep the rest of the timeline in mind. Inconsistencies will not be approved. We will be taking all major events and history and putting them all into one main timeline on the wiki page.
We also now have a Discord server! Anyone is free to join, and users with accepted submissions in the TU are given a special role. Additionally, we are introducing a galaxy map! Use it to specify where exactly your worlds are or what territory your empire controls. Feel free to draw on it to show where your planets/empires are, or simply do your best to describe where they are. Similar to the timeline, we will also be putting all planets, empires, etc. onto one map on the wiki. Please note that if you have not directly provided a visual for the placement of your planets/empires, we will have to guess for you based on how you described their position.
And finally, here is a link to the wiki page for the Thrive Universe: This information has been added to the original post in this thread.

Is it ok if I split up the Tireeie page into four different ones? Currently it's got Slohb, the Tireeie, Tretoii, and Eiishesh all on one page.

(Note: The subscript shows the Human pronunciation of Tireeie words, as Humans find difficulty in accurately mimicking Tireeie sounds)
Slohb(slobe) (temperate ocean world) - Image(s):
- Controlled by
- Theocratic Republic of Tretoii(TRET-twah) Island (simply Tretoii for short; largest nation on Slohb)
- A number of smaller nations
- Description: Slohb's surface is 99% water, with only a few islands here and there peeking above sea level. Slohb's oceans are home to a wide variety of life, from simple bacteria to complex multicellular organisms such as the sapient Tireeie.
- Population (sapients): 9 billion
- Gravity: 1.3g
- Size: About 1.4 times the diameter of Earth
- Rotational Period: 1.8 Earth days
- Orbital Period: 2.1 Earth years
- Natural Satellite(s)
Tireeie(tie-REE-yee) (aquatic, omnivorous sapient) - Image(s)
Bekseeib (bek-SEEB), a female Tireeie, wearing typical space-age clothing. Goldenmaw, leader of the Eiishesh pirates, wearing a dark blue hoversuit and carrying his weapons of choice. A stone-age Tireeie who is helping to spread the word of the newly formed religion of Treaiinu. - Origin: Slohb
- Description: Dolphin-sized organisms with a long, flexible, serpentine body. 6 fins, 5 eyes (arranged in an 'M' pattern) and a three-hinged jaw. Line of nostril-like gills underneath the main fin. Have long, flexible, noodle-like 'arms' that protrude from the cheeks; they branch out into three different appendages, with one, two, and three 'fingers' on each. They have a rather unique voice made of dolphin-like sounds that humans find difficulty in mimicking. Females are a bit smaller and have light blue skin, while males are typically larger and have a darker blue skin.
- Life Expectancy: 80 years
- Notable Technology
- Most Tireeie technology is based on alien technology; they don't have many unique inventions
- Smaller ships typically filled with water, though larger ships avoid this due to weight.
- Hoversuit: Skintight suits, capable of hovering, made specifically for Tireeie. They allow Tireeie to survive and float around in non-aquatic environments.
- Society: Due to being uplifted rather quickly, Tireeie behavior is still catching up, and therefore Tireeie society is still relatively primitive, and, at times, violent. Tireeie society is also very religious.
Religion: Around 70% of Tireeie are followers of Treaiinu(TREE-uh-new), and around 98% of Treaiinu's followers are Tireeie. Treaiinu is a religion based on alien visitation of Slohb (these aliens are known as the Treaii(TREE-uh)) and their uplifting of the Tireeie. Treaiinu myths tell of a diamond-shaped object falling from the sky and landing in the water near to Tretoii Island (one of Slohb's few islands, and one of the largest). Other myths tell of a golden city appearing on the island, and of otherworldly creatures helping to quickly advance Tireeie technology and culture. Treaiinu promotes equality, though it doesn't necessarily forbid violence. Later on, the Treaii (who the Tireeie still saw as gods) vanished suddenly, and the golden city on Tretoii Island was destroyed, though the religion remains. The symbol of Treaiinu resembles a round-cut diamond as viewed from the side (see the banner of Tretoii for an example), and the religion's color is gold.
Theocratic Republic of Tretoii(TRET-twah) Island (nation) - Symbol(s):
Banner of the Theocratic Republic of Tretoii Island: The diamond at the top represents Treaiinu, the official religion; in the center is a map of Tretoii Island, where the diamond-shaped Treaii object landed near. The text at the bottom reads "Treaii Ltuu Tbieeii Ueiu," which means "The light of the Treaii guides us," the country's motto. The blue represents the oceans of Slohb, and the yellow represents Treaiinu. - Notable Territory
- Slohb (capital)
- Many colonies, very few fully terraformed worlds.
- Species
- Population: 4 billion
Society: The Theocratic Republic of Tretoii Island is very religious, like many other Tireeie societies. They value peace, equality, and exploration. Religion- Treaiinu (85%)
- Other (15%)
Unique Technology: Typical Tireeie technology, such as hoversuits, etc.
Eiishesh(YEE-shesh) (pirate faction) - Symbol(s):
Banner: The black represents the darkness of space, where most Eiishesh bases are located; the "Slash" in the center is a cross between a wave and a wound and is the emblem of the Eiishesh. The indigo color of the Slash represents blood and violence. (Indigo is the color of Tireeie blood) - Notable Territory
- Mainly small stations, rarely any permanent colonies. Spread throughout the galaxy, clustered near the edge, far from the core.
- Species
Population: 80,000 Society: The Eiishesh are Tireeie space pirates feared in many parts of the galaxy. They are known for attacking ships, stations, and sometimes even planets in search of money and technology, often leaving no survivors. They are so well known, they give Tireeie in general a bad image. Religion: An extreme variant of Treaiinu that calls only for equality among Tireeie, disregarding any other lifeforms. Unique Technology: Typical Tireeie technology; not as advanced as that of developed Tireeie nations.

We've kinda abandoned the steam group, every now and then people post on it thinking the game is dead.

I made some better icons here (I started to dislike my old ones) on this thread I made on the dev forums because some users that post here think that this is a joke thread.

Looks great! Is it some sort of ascended being?
Also, if you click on it, it displays full size. It's probably small because you just directly attached it instead of uploading it from somewhere like imgur.

So, almost making a full circle back to the aesthetics of the Microbe Stage, except not really?

I had to think for a moment when titling this because there's already a thread called "Music Suggestions." This thread is for, of course, suggesting themes that our composers could create and eventually put into the game. (I mainly created this thread because I wanted to get back into making music and needed inspiration, but the others could use the posts here as inspiration as well, if they want.) Before suggesting, please skim this playlist to make sure that what you're suggesting hasn't already been made. (Ctrl+F helps) When you are suggesting a theme, please state in which situations it would play, and in which stage(s) of the game. Include a basic description of the track, with at least the overall feel and tone described. Feel free to also include the instruments, structure, etc. if you can think of those things. Also, the game's themes evolve across stages, generally following these guidelines: * In the Microbe stage, themes are typically pretty slow and use synths ( Example) The editor tracks are an exception, as they are a bit more upbeat and advanced. * The Multicellular themes use similar synths, however they have a bit more structure than the microbe themes. * The themes of the Aware stage now have proper structure, but for the most part avoid man-made instruments and percussion. * The Awakening Stage sees the formation of tribes, and thus more man-made instruments are used. ( Oliver's Awakening theme uses synths, but light amounts of human instruments (soft percussion and flutes) show that this theme would likely play during the transition between Aware and Awakening. * The themes of the Society stage add more advanced instruments, like violins and pianos and stuff. * Industrial's themes seem to become more... organized(?) later on. As technology becomes more advanced, synthesized instruments are reintroduced, although they're less ambient and more of an actual instrument. * The Space Stage sees almost all instruments replaced with synthesized ones. * And finally, Ascension is... I dunno, there aren't any themes composed for it, but it's probably something along the lines of this. Please don't suggest themes if they are jokes that you know won't be considered. Please use common sense, I'd rather not see this spammed with unviable joke-posts.

I've updated both of the two flags I did earlier. Here's the formerly unnamed Tireeie nation, now called Tretoii: "The map is not a map of Tretoii but the uninhabited island it surrounds. The island is the birthplace of the country's religion (Treaiinu). The diamond shape above it is the symbol of said religion; white and gold are the colors associated with it, and blue represents the ocean." And also Eiishesh!: "The Eiishesh are basically alien fish space pirate extremists, of the same religion as Tretoii. This flag features white and gold, the colors of Treaiinu, as well as the diamond, and black for the darkness of outer space. The 'slash' in the center is like a cross between a wave and.. well, a slash wound?"

No, just that Blue will remain the default theme, I suppose

Personally, I prefer Blue. What's your reasoning for making Ocean the default?

Assuming it's okay to double-post here since my last post was like, two months ago... Here is the flag of some unnamed Tireeie nation. The diamond shape represents Treaiinu, which originated from the area that this nation now occupies. The island shape represents the island that the nation surrounds - one of the few non-underwater landmasses on Slohb. This island was the landing site of the mysterious alien spaceship that uplifted the Tireeie and gave birth to the Treaiinu religion.
