This is the discussion related to the issue: github.com/Revolutionary-Games/Thrive/issues/451I forgot that this issue was fixed, but a newer version hasn't been released yet, so when the next version is released you should try again to see if it was fixed for you, too. I haven't seen that cell graphical glitch, might be worth it to open an issue on Github for that.

Try playing in fullscreen mode. I have the same issue on linux, and it goes away when playing in fullscreen (delete your Ogre.cfg file, which is in something like ~/.config/Ogre2.0). Though, fullscreen has issues with multiple monitors (which is an Ogre bug...). There's already an issue open for this: on github, which seems to be offline right now so I can't get a link

This is mostly likely a bug in Ogre (the rendering engine Thrive uses). So this should really be reported to the Ogre devs, either by one of us developers, or you could also do that. There's a (perhaps) related issue with multiple monitors turning all black when running thrive (which is also an Ogre issue), which is something I will eventually get around to reporting to Ogre and making sure it gets fixed.

Seems like the RPATH for the executable isn't enough. I added a LD_LIBRARY_PATH to the launch.sh script and included 3 libraries that were missing when I tested on an Ubuntu 16 VM Uploaded a new version, the link is still the same. I'm still missing another library. ./Thrive: error while loading shared libraries: libgcrypt.so.20: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Which version of gcrypt you have installed? It should be installed by default on Ubuntu and Fedora. For me it is in a package named libgcrypt. So I won't be including that in the zip because that should be easy to install for all sensible distributions.

Please redownload and try again. It should now contain libboost_thread.so.1.60.0 I tried running it, but now it says I'm missing this: ./Thrive: error while loading shared libraries: libx265.so.79: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Seems like the RPATH for the executable isn't enough. I added a LD_LIBRARY_PATH to the launch.sh script and included 3 libraries that were missing when I tested on an Ubuntu 16 VM Uploaded a new version, the link is still the same.

Well it's not showing up for me. God dammit. I had a similar issue when I hadn't updated my assets folder, due to the old link dying. And I think it was an issue with the default font being used as I didn't have the new font.

Looks like we released a build linked against boost 1.60. I don't think we actually need boost 1.60, so I guess it was an oversight. For now, if Mint has a boost 1.60 binary package, you could just install that. Or is this a build you built yourself? Sorry, my bad. I didn't notice I was using a wrong variable name in the build script causing that one boost library to not be copied into the package. Updated the file. I get this error whenever I try to run it. I'm using Linux Mint. ./Thrive: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_thread.so.1.60.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Please redownload and try again. It should now contain libboost_thread.so.1.60.0
