Even if there's a very clear instruction to press the question mark to close the window, players are still probably going to click anyway because they would've gotten used to clicking to close the windows. I think that all of the windows should be closeable with left-click or escape, maybe the press of a 'Continue' button if you want to add something like that in the future. Also, the use of the old window design there all of a sudden is kind of startling. Personally, I think you should've kept the old design for all of the windows - the new one seems kind of flat and boring, while the old one seems to look fine when its shape is warped, to me at least. Yeah, that makes sense. I'll try to make it so that you can click away the text box. The reason we switched to the new design was because the old one warped when we stretched it to make it larger or smaller to fit the text, and no-one bothered to create a better version. But I completely agree with you—the pixelated edges weren't very noticeable.

Bug report here: Im currently running the 0.3.2Rc1 Version of the game, and whenever I try to make something interesting such as a Heat-Eater such as the one shown in one of the animated examples, It keeps implementing the starter cell on it, the one with two flagella. I think this should be addressed because If people want to try to make a Plant Cell that doesnt move, like the ones in the game, they shouldent have the flagella on them, Just saying. There's probably a quantity of bugs already and this is probably already known but I thought I should say. imgur.com/JUzQSziimgur.com/gktDzFhimgur.com/kG1MvtJ

I moved your post here since nobody checks the misc thread for bug reports. That does sound like a pretty major bug to me.
Also I fixed my editor panel issue, and with it every other text-related error. I FIXED A BUG!!!

I have some other issues such as when Gluttony's Engulf (mostly accidently) Venom spitters, it causes the game to crash, well, when ANYTHING Engulfs a Venom Spitter it crashes the game. And a small question is: Will the membrane be refined so that it fits over the desired structure and doesnt default to a Rounded shape? I wanna make a starfish like cell

Edit: Oh, what am I saying! Moopli fixed this bug literally half an hour ago. It's not on the dropbox link yet because we're working on some other stuff, but it's definetely gone now. I'll have to look into this as well. Not without some major design changes. I think we decided a long time ago to have only convex cells, but I guess this might be an added feature in the "structure and appearance" tab.

Is it bad that I like pointing out bugs but feel bad because I do? I know I'm supposed to but idk.
This one is a bug and possible suggestion to fix, it involves the Dying system and how if enough things seemed to be loaded in then it causes the game to crash, I am not sure if this is the exact case, but I think a solution would be to de-spawn certain elements if they are far enough, though I'm not sure about how easy this exactly is.

Okay, so all of the bugs you guys mentioned except for the save/load issue have been fixed (at least on my laptop). The link has been updated with the newest version.

Looks like we released a build linked against boost 1.60. I don't think we actually need boost 1.60, so I guess it was an oversight. For now, if Mint has a boost 1.60 binary package, you could just install that. Or is this a build you built yourself? Sorry, my bad. I didn't notice I was using a wrong variable name in the build script causing that one boost library to not be copied into the package. Updated the file. I get this error whenever I try to run it. I'm using Linux Mint. ./Thrive: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_thread.so.1.60.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Please redownload and try again. It should now contain libboost_thread.so.1.60.0

Well it's not showing up for me. God dammit. I had a similar issue when I hadn't updated my assets folder, due to the old link dying. And I think it was an issue with the default font being used as I didn't have the new font.

I get a bug when i try quitting and the game crashes leaving the resolution for my desktop weird and my toolbar halfway up my screen. It doesn't happen if i start to the thrive menu then quit but once i hit the new game button there's no escaping it. This was happening in the last version too. I'm not sure how to get the crash report for you guys or i would post it.

If so, open it with notepad, see if the last line says pause, and if not, add a line at the end that says pause. Then, run the file, and it should open a command prompt window and run Thrive, and you should be able to see the log messages so you can tell us what's what.

I love the new backgrounds, they are great. Can something be done about the compounds gui element at the bottom? Could the box with the numbers in be moved to the bottom right so it doesn't take up so much room? How hard would that be? Just to get rid of the panel behind it and move the box with the numbers in. In 3.2 beta my gui worked fine, in 3.2 rc1, the compound box doesnt even fully show up and my moniter is 1600x900, it was fine before.Friend with larger monitor is having the same problem. Were there UI changes between versions? to fix it on my end what i did was the following: Go to: Thrive v0.3.2rc1 ->Thrive->gui->layouts->microbe_stage then at the bottom of the layout file where the compound list is defined, I simply changed the second udim2 position from -150 to -200.

untrustedlife , yeah, there were some GUI changes. Could you try replacing the compoundopen code in microbestage.layout to this: <Window name="CompoundsOpen" type="Thrive/ListWidget" > <Property name="Position" value="{{1.0,-200},{1.0,-150}}" /> <Property name="Font" value="Jura-15" /> <Property name="Size" value="{{0,200},{0,150}}" /> <Property name="CursorPassThroughEnabled" value="True" /> <Property name="TooltipText" value="The amount of compounds your cell has" /> </Window> Does it work or is it still offscreen?

I added a LD_LIBRARY_PATH to the launch.sh script and included 3 libraries that were missing when I tested on an Ubuntu 16 VM Uploaded a new version, the link is still the same.

In my monitor it shows up like this, any idea how can I fix it?: Im not a coding expert but I guess im going to say to either re-install the game (if you havent done that) or change the resolution, I remember a menu from the Ogre setup thing but I have no clue how to access that.

Within the bin folder, delete the file ogre.cfg and you'll get the Ogre setup menu next time you start the game...I think.
