Action: Follow the Next Generation.
About a week on Earth passes, and many of the babies hatch naturally - while at the same time many of the eggs turn out to be duds and never give life to the water. Of all these small creatures, about half are female, and half are male. They all scramble around, the size of Poison Dart Frogs, glowing bio-luminescence into their world. It's dark: nighttime.
One of the biggest ones, a female, swims out into the ocean blue, with her oversized feelers combing the ocean eagerly. She eats her first pieces of food before swimming off to gather more; but there are so many options. Her mother and father are long away, and she has no guidance other than her deep, internal instinct and what she already knows: warm water, and 'others like me.' She has too many options; for a moment, she's overridden.

Action: Follow the Feelers along the current. [2 votes Current + 2 votes Feelers]
The tiny female presses her feelers all the way out and takes the easy way out, letting herself be dragged along by the warm current. Even though it's dark, it's not as dark as the world her predecessors were greeted with. She swims along, kicking her two front fins thoughtfully. As a slightly smaller sister swims by, she takes note of a difference: her sister's fins are featureless and floppy, while her own fins have what seem to be 3 supports running down then, making sharp little bumps on the ends. Well, that's not important right now...
She snaps up a few more New Glowey Things as she drifts along, and takes a tiny nibble out of a plant bulb just for fun. Occasionally a small bubble drifts up slowly, and the water seems to be getting lighter, and the distance between the surface and the sand grows thinner...
Eventually she finds herself wedged between the two borders. Half of her feelers now stick out of the water, brushed by the wind, and she can feel things sticking to it faintly. Underwater her thin whiskers are dug into the sand, and can detect the electrical currents of tiny foodstuffs skittering around below.
Something's bothering her, but she can't decide what it is...

We're sensing a disturbance in the force I don't think it's wise to start looking towards the surface just yet. For all we know that's probably a bird about to eat us. I say we retreat back into the deep.

Action: Crawl further inland.
The small female lets curiosity gets the best of her, and she slips forward with her slightly sturdier fins, dragging herself along like a mudskipper fish. As more of her whiskers poke above the surface, she feels more things sticking to it: they feel like soft particles of some sort, and it feels sort of tickly... She finally decides to look up toward said feelers and see what was going on.
Up above is a brilliant red atmosphere that she can only just comprehend. While colors don't filter through her eyes very well, she can tell that it's red; she almost kind of likes that color. There's light coming from one side, while the other side is generally very dark, with fuzzy little lights. She doesn't understand any of this...
But the things on her feelers, she can see almost perfectly, since they're moving. She zeroes in on one and finds that it's actually another living thing, with very tiny wings slapping at the air in an unstable flight pattern. Eventually it lands on her longest feeler, and she feels a tingle go down it and into her tiny body. With a huff of irritation, she shakes her small head and all the tiny insects fly off.
She lifts herself up and almost immediately something inside her starts to burn. Every time she inhales, a fire bursts within her chest, surging through her insides, and her brain screams with fear. But at the same time she can sense something odd: even though it hurts... it's working...

Action: Test our limits.
The newly-hatched female split-second decides to keep going forward and testing her limit. She digs her little fins into the watery sand, pushing herself forward nervously. The farther forward she goes, the more her insides hurt, but the easier it gets to suck the air in. Granted, the water was easier to deal with, but the air was somehow welcoming; so she continued to move.
Eventually she was entirely out of the water, and onto the wet sand. She flopped on her belly, huffing and puffing painfully as she tried to bring back as much energy as possible. She opened her eyes and, while catching her newly-discovered breath, decided to look around her.
There were a few others like her, sitting either just outside the surf or higher up on the dry part of the beach. There was something notably different from them and her, and she Belgiumed her head a little. She couldn't see the difference between her and them, but she could somehow sense it...
Health: Passable
Hunger: Great
