Here is the link to our final release of 0.3.0! It's been a long time since our last release, but we managed to add a lot of features, including, but not limited to, an opening cut scene, a cell membrane, organelle models, and tooltips. Play with the game and try as hard as you can to break it. Post and bugs you find here and we will do our best to fix them before releasing the official release. We are currently aware of the following bugs: - F1/F4/F10 is broken- organelle models of NPC species overlap.- Nucleus blinking and temporary material- Change tooltips text - Deleting an organelle in the editor keeps the cytoplasm hex there - Undoing a delete crashes the game - New microbe button does not work- Cells and emitters are rendered inside the view rectangle (looks bad and causes jittering when an emitter is rendered underneath a cell)

Straight off the bat, love it already, but the Options Tab does nothing. Can't change the resolution at all, there was no popup to setup the .ogg or whatever it was.

I think we only left the button enabled by mistake Jjonj was working on creating an options menu, and while the menu doesn't exist yet, the button was left enabled. We'll fix that.

So that we have a full list of bugs here, I'll post what I put in the Slack chat. A couple of things I've already noticed: - It started in windowed mode, but expanding it to full screen stopped the main menu buttons from working - A lot of the other cells were jittering around - Not necessarily a problem for the release candidate, but there's no application shortcut within the folder - In windowed mode, the video was stretched to fill the screen making it distorted - Sound from the environment kept playing for a second or two over sound in the editor Other than that, YAY ACTUAL CELL SHAPED CELLS! Also TheCreator you might want to post this to the subreddit too, although not as an announcement.

When I put mine in fullscreen mode, the main menu buttons worked the same oliveriver... either way, I recorded a bit of gameplay and will make a video to try to point out anything I saw, small or big. Look forward to it in the next hour or so.

One other quick thing - the font size seems bigger in full screen mode. Either that or the main menu buttons are smaller. I've noticed this with 0.2.4 too on my new PC, which suggests it's a monitor size issue.

Okay, so to have to ogre options dialog you need to delete the ogre.cfg file in you bin folder and then restart the game. The jittering is caused because emmiters randomly spawn and sometimes they spawn in the location of a microbe, moving it to the side. The video doesn't seem stretched for me though.

-The microbes are blinking, I think I got disco mode enabled. youtu.be/sgiKYTVlTKs-Also when I press exit the game crashes. -All the tool tips say "Exit game" but that may be a feature Great work with this. It's a huge step forward.

Actually, you know, making a video would be too much work for this. Basically, my gripes are: cell editor is broken - you can go in, place something like mitochondria at the edge of your cell, and then click undo, and while the mitochondria is taken out, it shows that the cytoplasm isn't (or at least it looks like cytoplasm's still there); everyone spawns only when you're pretty close - zoom out the whole way and stuff will only spawn when it's like halfway between you and the edge of the visible area; I see cells literally filled to the brim with toxin vacuoles, are those supposed to be there?; you know, saving and loading and stuff like that; the background for the "ocean" or whatever is completely stationary and has a visible seam in it; finally, the initial oxygen molecule it spawns you next to gives off glucose.

tjwhale that disco mode should be a feature....easter eggs anyone? (Also, my sincerest apologies, I know this is off topic, but I'm still waiting for the download...)

Cell shaped things are amazing! Shows how much progress has been made! However, I have some bugs and suggestions to report:
-If you zoom out (and you have to, as the default zoom is too close) cells and emitters are rendered inside your view screen, as you approach. They should be loaded and rendered outside to avoid microbes popping out of nowhere - I wasn't able to produce amino acids, so I couldn't produce reproductase neither.Perhaps it was because of bad gameplay, but if that is the case it should be clearer how to produce them. It could be also that one vacuole isn't enough for all compounds, but I couldn't add more because I couldn't reproduce. -The nucleus rendered as just an sphere, without any texture. -When I entered the editor, I tried to make a V-shaped microbe, but the membrane rendered in the between space producing a triangle. -Chloroplasts should be bigger than mitochondria, and the endoplasmatic reticulum should be bigger too, all around the nucleus. -All microbes look pretty similar. It would be nice to have some colour variation in them, at least in some organelles, like the nucleus - It would be nice to have a transparent background over the one that is now (that should be also change). The first background would be fixed, and the other would move slowly as you move, to give more speed sensation. -Also, it wasn't clear how you can remove organelles.

Great job! Keep it up!
Haven't downloaded it yet, but I look forward to playing.
Longuisquama, on your 6th point, there will be colour variation between microbes because it is planned that you will be able to change the colour of the cell membrane.

When I delete a hex and then click the undo button, the game crashes. This might be because I am running this game under Linux using Wine. I have also encountered some of the bugs people have stated before me.
Other than that, great work on the update!
EDIT: Also, how do I rotate organelles?

You can engulf cells by pressing g and swimming over them now, (sadly the only visual indication that you have it toggled is that you move much slower) Hey guys, been awhile, nice new forum, why couldn't I login with my dev account? Anyway, great job.

Works in Linux perfectly Ha nice. I'm currently working on the linux bugs, I've made quite a bit of headway despite still being stuck on the same problem as before. Some comments: * Parallax background is planned * Nucleus lacking texture: I think it's the last organelle we put in and there were some issues with it * Unable to produce amino acids: odd. have you tried collecting ammonia? I believe that's currently the only source of nitrogen available. We'll have bacteria next release that you can graze on, should greatly improve things * Membrane doesn't allow for concave structure: WAD. * removing organelles: R, I think? We'll have to make that clearer * disco mode: I think we've already fixed it, fix probably wasn't uploaded though * cell jittering: solved, due to objects spawning atop each other and being pushed apart by bullet * cells literally full of toxin vacuoles: WAD * starting-location oxygen molecule spawning glucose: WAD * cells don't spawn/despawn outside FOV: should be an easy fix, we just never got around to it * rental school laptop: lucky you!

Tried engulfing a cell that I realized (too late) had toxin vacuoles.
GG.
The thing with the amino acids is that cells tend to throw out glucose, ammonia, and amino acids in favor of other compounds (often due to swimming into a "field" of CO2). Since the initial cell only has one vacuole and moves as gracefully as the Titanic, this is a problem.
Still good though.

The main menu buttons are a bit off. I have to click in the space lower than the pencil button to actually click it.
Sometimes when clicking the new cell button the game crashes.
