I was curious to know that if this game unlike spore would allow you to be the male, and furthermore alpha, and would there be female alphas?

I suppose that would be decided by what you chose in the Behavior Editor. Don't know if there'll be a specific section for social behavior, but yeah.

I imagine male/female differences would be important for mammal-like creatures, since the females would be more likely to care for the babies while the males would get them foodstuffs.
Idk about male/female alphas tho...

Idk about male/female alphas tho... Actually, it'd work for herd animal harem-based behavior, too. Not just with mammals, but dinosaurs. With males challenging other males, adaptations normally assumed to be for protection against predators (horns, tusks, etc.) could be used in clashes for herd leader status.

Ok now to alphas, since we are evolving new creatures, who says they cant behave differently, such as females being the heads and males watching female lions are already the hunters, so why not allow this to go a little further and allow (according to how the player Evolves them and choices which are made) female alphas

Female alphas exist on earth more than some people realize - so there's lots of models to go after.
-Orca pods are lead by a mother, her permanently staying sons, and her temporary daughters.
-Elephant herds are lead by a great grandmother, female relatives, and young calves. Males leave to be solitary.
-Hyena Clans have extreme feminism. The lowest ranking female is forever higher than the highest ranking male.
-Meerkats/Mongooses have matrairchs and she is the only one to breed. She decides who will be her alpha boy and who joins the Gang.
-Feral cat colonies mostly consist of a female or two (maybe three) and their kittens that they most likely nursed and raised together.
-RingTailed Lemur Clans work similarly to the Hyenas and the lowest female is ALWAYS higher than the highest male.
I'm sure I missed a few...

I'm sorry, how did we go from social behavior to politics?

I meant incharge of the pack, herd, club, whatever.... although it will eventaully become Politics, due to evolution of the sapient species.
EDIT: and if you think about it male and female alphas or dominance is kinda animal politics AND their social behaviour

I was just listing off animals people could model their social behavior off of if they wanted to. I don't see the politics, but hey, to each their own!

The way they run their species is kinda their politics
Example: A lion is the head of the pride hes sorta the prez, now when another male challenges him its sorta like a re-election, the male who won the fight has got the most "votes"

Alphas and Genders and how they behave will probably be sorted out with the Caste system in the editor.

Matriarchy must get added to the game!

By all means have a matriarchy or, even more interestingly, mess with the concept of sexes altogether. Why not a species with 4 sexes that must all come together to create offspring? An extreme herd dynamic at that.

Who said there had to be genders? What about Parthenogenetic reproduction?
Maybe your species has no concept of leadership?
You never know!
