THE GUIDELINES
The game is to collectively evolve a single species from Single Celled Organism to Space Faring Creature. It will loop through the stages, until the thread dies or loses interest.
Each commenter takes on a different Stage of Thrive. So if the latest comment had the Awakening stage, the next commenter takes the Awareness stage, and so on.
The challenge is to tell the story of the species. Don't make it too long, for the sake of simplicity, but don't one-line it either. Maybe a paragraph or two would be good, three if you're really feeling it - but no more than four.
List specifically what the creatures have done in that section. List what they evolved, their natural enemies, what they eat, their appearance, their behavior, ect.
And no skipping Stages just because it might be boring! Trust me. Writing about a Microbe species is not exactly riveting.
When we get to the Space Stage, it loops back to Microbe stage with a new species.
Be creative as you want! It doesn't have to make sense, just make sure it's explained as well as possible!
I'll enjoy seeing where the creatures go down the line!
-MICROBE STAGE-
SPECIES NAME: Kindlings
The first Kindlings appear out of the primordial sludge. Simple organisms, they take in oxygen and pump out Carbon Dioxide.
The species slowly evolves a sort of 'cup' in the 'front' of it, which briefly catches foodstuffs of all forms. Kindlings are mostly omnivorious, eating whatever falls into this cup. Due to their gelatinous forms, nothing can really stay in the cup for extended amounts of time. It usually falls out and sinks within seconds, and sometimes that particular cell never gets the nutrients it had hoped to get.
A lot of cilia evolve in some Kindlings after a while, but not all, and some go without. The cilia help with fast movement, but they aren't being selected for or against at the moment.
