Description: A very old man, born in 1901, who holds the title of the oldest person alive at 137 years old. He is truly blessed, as technology and his own genetics will allow him to live at least 40 more years. However, that does not mean that he's very strong. Rather, he's only slightly stronger than what most people would expect at this age. His face is very wrinkly, and his hair is as grey as duct tape.
Backstory: As a former military veteran in both World Wars, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, he has had lots of military experiences. However, he was very lucky too, with most bullets just barely missing him. He was a very high ranking officer, and at first, he refused to retire, citing that the world still needed him. As time went on, he finally retired at the ripe age of 79
Place: He currently is in district Pi, searching for a bunker, safe-house, any shelter after his house in district M was destroyed.
Equipment: He has an advanced pacemaker implanted in his heart to ensure his heartbeat isn't irregular. Inside his backpack, he has a box of pills, with 150 Heart-HelpingTM pills in it as well as 75 blood thinning pills and 75 blood thickening pills. Also inside his backpack are 8 MREs, a 3 liter water bottle currently filled, and 70 rounds for his EAST gauss rifle. John Lon currently is wearing his uniform from the World Wars, and on his pant leg, there's a knife sheath with an actual knife in it.

I was a bit affraid at first, but it turned really well ! I actually like this character a lot ! Oh, just a little thing, full gauss rifles are TEST weapons, but if there is any sort of chemical propulsion (aka powder) in addition with the magnet propulsion, it is an EAST. So, if your weapon is a EAST gauss rifle, the bullets contain powder ! That's not a problem, it makes weapons even more powerfull, but with a highter chance of breaking (but with 6 in luck, it's one in a million so...)

Backstory: William is renowned as one of the most brilliant biologists of his time. When the first signs of the Hijack Parasite where discovered, he was the first one to warn about it's dangers. The goverment didn't listen at first, leading to the known consequence's. He was asked to lead the research team on a cure. As you might have guessed, he isn't making a lot of progress. Location: An armed basement in the Pi distric. He's there with his wife and childeren, about 5 researchers, and 2 armed guards (The other researchers and guards fled when the goverment stopped responding) Equipment: A drawer of clothing+ a lab coat. And now, I will appear like a mean person x3 (for soundwave and Skyguy98 ) But nah, don't want to spoil anything, but when you become fully infected, the Hijack takes over. So, your character isn't dead, but he becomes a non-playable mob, basically. When the infection starts, it's a count-down ! I autorized that in the two first iterations of the game (because it's a remake and a translation from a game I already made two times) and it didn't turned well :/

Previous ? Like before the End ? If it's the case, there is a lot of chance your character was protected by some soldiers, but not in a bunker. Because of its late construction, Portswear doesn't have any bunkers for civilians inside the city (and for now, we will stick to the city). A basement, why not ? A full locked and secured bunker, I'm sorry but no :/ And for NPC's, you mean creating npc's ? If it's the case, well why not ? But don't use ot to bypass the maximum of characters ! You know what ? Do your thing and I will say whether or not I'm okay ! ^^
Description: A middle-aged man in his late 40s who is healthier than most his age. His hair used to be a red-orange color in his earlier years, but now his hair is grey. He has a thick but not long beard, which combined with the rest of his features, makes him a very handsome fellow.
Backstory: This man is of German descent, and he has a slight but very noticeable German accent. He was once a history teacher at a local school, and he was loved by his students. He had a lot of artifacts which he would bring to the school and show to his students. At the start of every school year, he would dress up as a knight and introduce the students to his class. Now, with the apocalypse looming, he is taking up the virtues of knights to ensure justice is met out.
Place: His suburban house in District M
Equipment: Inside his house, he has a full suit of armor which would cover all of his body. His tabard for his armor contains his family's coat of arms that was passed down from generation to generation for many generations. The coat of arms itself is a blue cross with a thin red outline on top of a light green background. His ranged weapon is a crossbow with 20 bolts, and his melee weapons are two twin axes which would fit on the sides of his armor. He also has a claymore that would fit on the back of the armor. His normal clothes, which would fit perfectly underneath the medieval armor, is a blue shirt and tan colored pants. When traveling without his heavy-duty armor, he would bring the two axes and a medium sized backpack. In his backpack, there currently is a 2 liter water bottle filled completely.
While I really like all the "Deus vult" trope, but maybe 13 characteristic points is "too much". I forgot to put some scales but 8 characteristic points isn't an "everyday human", it's already a person a little bit suited for the apocalypse. So maybe 13 char points (wich is more than 1.5 times the "already good human") is a lot. An other thing : 6 is the max a normal human can achieve. 0 isn't bad, in fact. Maybe try to don't go above 11 ? And its the same for the skillset, 20 skill points (so, 4 more than already more than normal) is a bit too much. You already have a genius (because Hawking would basically have 7 in I), I don't think you need 4 bonus skill points. Futhermore, let me explain the skill scale : 0 : You're not trained, but you can know it. 1 : You're trained 2 : You're well trained 3 : You're a pro 4 : You can't learn more. A HEMA teacher would have 3 in Heavy weapons and Guard. A HEMA world champion would have 4 in one of the two.
I'm sorry, it's not to tone down your experience, it's quite the opposite ! I really think you should stay at 16 skill points, maybe 17, at least to have your character evolve a bit more !

It's funny because characteristic wise you are exactly the opposite xD At least get rid of that -2 in strenght, how do you want him to hold his rifle with crackers-like muscles ? Maybe you should put one more point to both S and I ?

PS : Actually, I won't refuse neither of your characters at their actual state. But somehow, one will have a lower base value than average and the other will have an higher base value, except when trying to hide himself or shooting his rifle. Don't know why ? Maybe some sort of magic ?

What is InfectionZ ?
Well, it's a forum-based survival rpg game rythmed by random events -they are not totally random, I choose the one I think fits the best- going from a weapon jam to a horde. Here, death is totally a part of the game, a player can have up to two characters alive simutaniously, but it's highly recommended to not bond too much with them. I will be using a d20 to determine the outcome of some actions (some other will be automaticaly successful or automaticaly failed, for the fun's sake !).
A bit on the space/time context :
The action takes place in the fictionnal city of Portswear. It's basically New-York, but not on the seaside. The year is 2038. Civilian technology didn't advanced much since now, but the army has some hybrid weapons, known as TEST (Totaly Electrical Slug Thrower) or EAST (Electricaly Assisted Slug Thrower). Its rail guns, gauss rifles, magnetic crossbows, magnetic assisted riffle, smart guns and so on. There is also some cybernetic limbs, but while they are more numeros than today, they aren't extremely advanced : meat is still better than metal.
Game starts at the morning of the first day after the End. Less than 72h before, the world became suddenly crazy, peoples killing others in hordes down in the streets, army unsuccessfully trying to stop feelingless corpses, all that. Yesterday, late in the evening, the last governement communication stopped.
The hijack is the name given to the parasite who turns peoples into zombies, its origins are totally unknown. Here is its description. Note that your character doesn't necessarily know all that (it's even highly unlikely).
Eggs : The hijack starts as an white and translucent egg the size of a sand grain, they can remain asleep waiting their time in food, in water, on blades, on walls, pretty much everywhere. Even the cold and the heat fails to get rid of it, but high exposition to UV (like a strong UV flashlight or daylight) can kill them. Larvaes : In larval form, the hijack is a tiny white grain of rice, capable of tunneling its way through flesh and bloodstreams to attach to the spinal cord at the C3 and C4 vertebraes. Eggs turn into larvae when exposed to wounds or mucous membranes. Like the eggs, UV can kill them. Juvenile : The hijack juvenile is the size of a thumb, is pink in color and begins to create neuronal filaments all along the spine of its prey, making its extraction lethal or at least disabling. Larvae turn into juvenile a short time after having plugged itself with his victim. UV can kill them, but it needs so much exposition it would severly wound the host. Adult : The adult hijack is, for its part, of multiple shapes and sizes. Generally, it is a large mass of red chitin, around the size of a fist, grabbed at the neck of the host, welded to the skin, its abdomen, devoid of carapace, is visible in transparency under the epidermis of the victim. At this point, it reacts to UV like any other creature.
Sickness stages : First quietness : (6-8 hours) No sympthoms. Most of the time, the host isn't even aware of its infection. It's the only time he can be saved without consequencies. Primo-infection : (8-12 hours) Similarly to the AIDS, the host immune system is totally inefficient, he can die of a simple cold. The hijack starts plugging itself. Second quitetness : (2-6 hours) Again, no symphoms. The hijack rests and starts transforming into an adult. A bulb is growing on the neck of the host. Pre-terminal : (10-24 hours) The immune system is boosted, regenerative abilities are beyond human, we are talking about regrowing fingers in hours. Cancerous cells are treated, all types of diseases are errased. Schizophrenia starts to appears, a hunger is urging the host to kill, he slowly looses his memories, sometimes even speech. Terminal : (5-40 minutes) The host gradually but quickly looses control over his own body until he finally turns. The infection therefore takes up to 50 hours before being total.
The fluff rules : You are only humans. Stress kills faster than bullets. Hunger doesn't only make your belly growl. Thirst should be your greatest fear. Night is filled with much worse than grey cats. Environnement is your best tool, but also your greatest foe. Fireweapons are noisy. Ammunitions are more valuable than gold. Money is the only scentless thing. The better way to attack is to not fight at all. Groups are always stronger. Betrayal can be a smart strategy.
The behavior rules : Insult the character, not the player. Don't complain, the game will be hard, but not unfair. If you are feeling that you struggle, you are actually the luckiest of all. You can't spawn in with a full military grade equipement. Nor any sort of OP character. Actually, you can be OP, but the more a character is OP, the quicker he will die. I prefer everyday people than super heroes. YOU CAN'T BE IMMUNE. NEVEH.

About characteristics : Characteristics represent the physical and mental condition of your character. They go from -2 to +6 and their base value is 0.
Agility(A) represents how precise is and agile is your character. It represents also his speed. Strenght(S) represents how much your character can lift, how hard he can hit and how well he can perform heavy tasks. Fitness(F) represents the health and stamina of your character, his capacity to withstand wounds or diseases, but also how long he can perform heavy tasks. Intelligence(I) represents the capacity of your character to think quick and well, to see lies and read peoples. Will(W) represents how well your character can resist to stress, fear or attempts to control him. Charisma(C) represents the capacity of your character to lead others, act or lie. Luck(L) represents at what extent your character is able to achieve totaly random tasks, like shooting blindly.
By the way, average characters have 8 characteristic points. You can go above or under, but I keep a veto right.
About skills : Skills represent how well your character achieve a precise task. They go from 0 to +4 and their base value is 0.
Agility based skills Nimble : Determines the speed of your character's movements. Sneaking : The skill to avoid detection. Climbing : The skill to escalade walls and other more or less vertical surfaces. Aiming (Firearm) : The skill to shoot precisely with firearms. Aiming (Bows) : The skill to shoot precisely with bows. Light weapons : The skill to strike with knifes and other short melee weapons. Reloading : The skill to reload quickly, even under pression.

Portswear is not only known for being one of the rare huge cities built during the 21st century, but also for the huge blaze that burned more than the half of the buildings in 2024. Since, most of them were reconstructed.
Because it's actually quite important to know where you are, here is a poorly drawn map of Portswear (btw, North is up and South is down)
Portswear is a high-tech city, with a lot of steel and glass buildings. It's built around the Fairy River, going from the North-West to the South-East, dividing itself in the middle of the city. The city is divided into 22 districts.
Going in alphabet order : •In purple, it's the heart of the city, where the city hall and central police station are. There is some very luxurious habitations but mostly offices. •In cyan, it's the office district, very wealthy again. Here, there is also "Eden park" and the two main banks of Portswear. •In pink, it's the Gamma(Γ) district, mostly touristic, a lot of hotels, two airports, a huge number of chic shops. There is two parks here, the "Springwood park" at the north and the "Ironhouse park" at the south. •In red, it's the two wealthy districts. The Delta(Δ) district being borderer with the Phi(Φ) slums, there is a three meters high wall around (wich is now broken down in several places). In the Epsilon(E) district, you can find an airport. •In orange, it's the eight average districts. Each one has around 64 blocks and 8 police stations, but only 1 or 2 are really well equiped. There is a military base in the Iota(I) and Nu(N) districts. There is a low security prison in the South of the Eta(H) district and a high security prison in the North of the Kappa(K) district. At the South of the Theta(Θ) district, there is the nuclear plant powering the city. •In brown, it's the industrial zones. The Xi(Ξ) and Omicron(O) districts are mostly Ironwork factories. In the Rho(P) and Pi(Π) districts, there is mainly refinery. •In black-stripped yellow, it's the two zones still under construction. In the Sigma(Σ) disctrict, there is already some building frames, but nothing really finished. The Tau(T) distrcit is mostly filled with foundations, even if there is only one frame, the "EverSpear" frame, what should have become the third highest building in the world. •In black, it's the Upsilon(Y) district, a high-security military place. No one really knows what's in there. •In grey, it's the two slums of the city. The Phi(Φ) slum, being borderer with the Delta(Δ) district, was occupied by a militia, because of that, you can find some outposts here. The Chi(X) slum is mainly made of jug houses, built with the waste of the factories

I don't want to start a debate, but, at least to me, Starbound was way better in the past, where creatures were really smart and would attack you instead of just making sure their hitbox of magical damage rubs your legs. I really liked the combat system without damage on contact, and I miss the old time where creatures were totally random, going from a blood-vomiting giant bird to a farting green sausage. There is also the sudden disparition of the racial weapon for the PNJs (avians wielding avian blasters, glitches wielding crossbow, florans wielding thorny weapons and so on) that ruined a part of the coherence to me, and I don't even talk about the intros voiced by the narrator of Bastion thatwere replaced by one background for all the races, furthermore a background as anthropocentrised as possible and that I seen way too much...
Yes, she can create magnetic fields and accelerate (a lot, like to the speed of a bullet) small objects if they stay at maximum 10 cm far from her skin, and heat them to the point of melting (it works better with aluminum because iron (and steel) loses most of it "inductibility" when heated too much). I think it would be New Athens, she's dumb but not to the point of raiding a fortress, but I don't really care if she get caught or not, it could be even better, actually. And finaly, she his homeless, but she's installed in a disused factory, I would say not too far from the docks or in a derelict district, it depends where one can find that type of structure.

description : A young woman -around 17 or 18- with long blond hair and almost unreal blistering blue eyes, around 160 cm tall and about the normal weight mass and morphology. She has a huge but not too deep burn scar on the right side of her face, going from the eyebrow to the shoulder. She has an earring on the left, a burn scar around her right middle-finger the size of a ring and a biomechanical tattoo sleeve on her left arm going up to her neck, with phosphorescent details and hieroglyphs, invisible under the light.
powers : She is able to generate very strong but really short (1 to 10 cm) magnetism, paramagnetism and electromagnetism around and in her body, giving her not only the ability of restricted telekinesy on light metal objects, but also the ability to heat them trought induction (especially aluminum). She can also create tiny electric arcs and sparks between her fingers or in her mouth.
equipment : A crimson hoody with sleeves rolled up, black latex sleeves going from the middle of her biceps to the tip of her middle and ring fingers, black skinny jeans and black ranger shoes, a sport bag containing an aluminum bat with heavy leather strapped around the grip and about 100 cm of steel chain and finaly two little pockets tied up to her belt containing metal marbles.
backstory: Raised as a spoiled kid that later became "difficult teenager", Sky quickly packed her stuff to leave the parental house and go live in the grand Fable City. Here she survived, squatting disused factories and sharing her live with other marginals, trying about everything on offer, mostly illegal. One day, she tried the wrong drug, a "magic mix" baked with mysterious medecines. If she has not fallen addicted, she surrely had three grievious days, contorting in pain on the ground. Once she ended crying, she burned herself with her rings, beads and piercings, in an other try she accidentaly pourred heated metal on her face, almost loosing an eye in the process, but she finally achieved to master a small part of her power and came to the question : "What am I'm going to do with that ?"
other : She isn't innerently bad, but she's surely very immature, selfish, hysterical and narcissistic. She is a disturbed teenager with the ability to melt and project metal after all. The sparks and electric arcs she makes are in fact a possible evolution of her power, the ability to create plasma throught induction, but at the moment it is only seen when she is wrathful and stays very weak. She creates a lot of static electricity, so peoples often experience a tiny shock when touching her.
drop off : In front of the bank she is about to rob.
TL:DR : She's some sort of a blonde punk with a tiny bit of Double-Face, able to manipulate and heat metal and about to rob a bank, but she's more lost than evil so it's not so bad.

It's on the edge of necroposting (I'm such a bad person, sorry >3<) but I came up with an idea to make that possible ! The creature has one air intake and one propulsion hole, but two engines in the form of two sacks surronded by extremely strong muscles. To propel itself, the creature fills (trough the air intakes) and empties (trough the propulsion hole) the two sacks, alternativly, so it is always pushing itself forward !
I'm French, so...yeah, language, sorry for that I will do my best. And no, I don't eat frog legs or snails, and it spells "omelette AU fromage", not "omelette du fromage", it has always been a bother to me...

I live in Bretagne, not that far from Rennes. Here the weather is exactly like you would expect : not so great. Like it rain at least one time everyday.
I like roleplay in a general way, tabletop, chat and forum. I even manage a tabletop rpg club at school. I also really enjoy video games, from FPS like Arma to turn-based strategy rpg like XCOM, but one of my favorite game is Armored Core For Answer, because I love mechs, like A LOT (And I'm searching a low price steel battalion game).
I'm on forums now since 5 to 6 years...I guess ? -I can't remember- and I've started one with friends almost 9 months ago or so.
I'm on the way of becoming a game designer (I hope, at least) and I like Spore, so a Spore-"like" incoming game is a lure to me !

Atrox: what i do is i simultaneously pull apart my thumb and fingers and press them back together at the same time. Instead of just moving your thumb away move both of them apart it brings them apart quicker and pushing them both together in unison brings them
