If a space ship enters a wormhole there could be 1 in a 100 hundred chance(or 100% chance with cheats or mods) they will enter a parallel universe. Due to game limitations there should be between 1 and 3 parallel universes. After you go into the parallel universe you can research "inter dimensional travel" and it could be one of the last things to unlock before ascension. Below is a list of ideas for parallel universes
Sky universe: a universe in which dall of space is a bright blue earth-like sky with white clouds. There are floating planetoids or rock islands covered in grass and other plant life. Random organisms made by other players live on these floating bodies.
Cube planet universe: a universe in which every star and planet are cubes.
Liquid universe: similar to the sparklevoid from the sparkle franchise. A universe full of water with Floating peices of rock and colonial organisms like coral or seaweed. Aquatic organisms made by other players could live here.
