I think the Awakening Stage should have animal breeds and plant breeds, to help spur creativity. Domesticated animals could be edited in the organism editor to enhance their skills, and plants in a Flora editor.
Animal Breeds: Livestock- Produce commodities such as food, leather and fiber. (ex. Cows, Pigs) Transport- Used to move people and goods (ex. Horse, Camel) Companions- Keen senses and hunters (ex. Dogs, Cats)
Plant Breeds: Crops- Produce fruits, vegetables, oils and wood. (ex. Corn, peppers) Narcotics-Used as medicine. (Ex. Marijuana, Alcohol)
The Tribal Stage was the least creative and by far most mundane stage in Spore, and I don't want Thrive to repeat Spore's mistakes.

Iirc that was the initial idea. I agree a lot can be done with it and look forward to seeing its usage
Those are some good ideas as to the type of things you can do. They can produce goods that you use and or trade and such.

Perhaps they work as processes, but they have to be collected (for livestock and plants), like the ol' Spice.

Perhaps they work as processes, but they have to be collected (for livestock and plants), like the ol' Spice. That's what I was thinking. I was also thinking that alongside people and trade, transport breeds could be used to tow plows like oxen, to help break the soil.
