So when you modify your creature, can there be some sort of genetic mutation that isn't planned and doesn't use any Dna, and you can choose whether to keep the mutation or eliminate it the next time you evolve? The mutation could thrive (get it?) or it could be really harful, it just depends on luck.

I think, for the microbe stage, we have been talking about this. It was quite a while ago so I'm really not sure how this will shake out. We were thinking it would be good for you to be given a "recommended mutation" which is chosen by Auto-Evo which uses the same algorithm as the mutations for the other cells will use. This would help new players (who have no idea what a mitochondria is) and would give more advanced players some guidance without feeling like they were being told what to do. Because of course Auto-Evo works by testing 5 mutations and then choosing the best one. So the one it suggests wouldn't be the best possible mutation (that would require a vast amount of testing) but it would be one which would be beneficial. Anyway as I say no decisions are made. Freedom, freedom, freedom for us when we actually get to this point!
