A pantheon of gods gathers around a newborn star, surrounded by a cradle of subplanetary dust. Some of them are newly born, ready to test their might. Others are experienced veterans of godhood, having ruled over planets before. Still others are broken, wary beings, perhaps survivors of a world-wrecking divine war, hoping to start anew.
Whatever their past, their purpose is one; form a new world, and guide its mortal inhabitants to greatness. It is a long, arduous journey, requiring difficult decisions on their part. Should a mass extinction come to end an age of stagnancy? Is it in their best interests to prevent one from happening? What of intelligent life when it evolves? And most of all; is divine intervention the right choice?
=====
Welcome to the "Gods of the Planet" forum game!" Here, you will play as a pantheon of gods. Some of you will be here from the start, others will come to join in partway through.
Character Sheet
Name: (can be as mundane as "Steve," or eldritch as "Za'agnuthlas")
Type: (see below)
Bio: (your past and/or general description, can be as long as you need it to be)
There are five "species" of god, each holding dominion over a particular force of nature. The name of each type, as well as examples of what they are capable of, follow.
God of Fire
-Starting fires wherever, whenever
-Directing magma and lava
-Increasing global temperatures
God of Earth
-Making landforms from surrounding matter
-Manipulating gravity
-Shifting the continents
God of Life
-Awakening dormant microbes
-Unleashing pathogens
-Reviving extinct species from fossils
God of Water
-Switching available water between solid and liquid state
-Directing and diverting glaciers, icebergs, and water flow
-Manipulating humongous waves
God of Air
-Manipulating the winds
-Summoning immense storms
-Impeding or helping pyroclastic flows
You will need to cooperate with one another to achieve your goals. For example, a god of fire would need a god of earth to cause a volcanic eruption in order to have access to lava. A god of life would need a god of air's help in spreading the spores of a pioneer plant species.
The game is not organized in concrete turns; you may freely interact with one another in-character. However, observing and interacting with the world will require yours truly to respond, and divine intervention will require a d20 dice roll. Will the formation of an island with a volcano go smoothly, or will overdoing it lead to the ash and smoke causing a calamity elsewhere? Will the prevention of a forest fire leave more fuel for an even worse fire in the long run?
For the sake of me not taking things literally, perform divine intervention through typing "Action:" followed by your godly act in your post.

Pantheon:
Name: Xelio (skyguy98)
Type: life
Bio: Xelio was one of the first gods to join the universe, and in his many travels and planets he has seen many diffrent forms of life be created or destroyed by his, and his companions, hand. He has seen predators and prey, empires rise to greatness and fall to ruin, disease, invasion, or simple overpopulation. He has seen much and is once again on the move, to build a civilization that will stand the test of time
Name: Argaine (The_Wayward_Admiral)
Type: God of Earth
Bio: Argaine is an ancient being. He has witnessed many billions of planetary births and watched all things crumble before him, although he has never exercised any form of power. He is one of few survivors following a bitter conflict between two fire gods in the early universe, a battle during which he was forced to kill his one time friend and mentor to prevent him from escaping to wreak havoc across the stars. He views the conflict as arising from too sharp a dichotomy between good and evil, and so takes a vow of neutrality in his actions going forward. He values temperance, compromise, and harmless indulgences. He despises damage to the innocent, close-mindedness, and irrational action.
Name: Areos (Sparus)
Type: Air
Bio: A god of many worlds, Areos is a god of both creation and destruction. With a name meaning "air dawn" he drifts between realms, bringing up the inhabitants of the one at which he currently resides. However, he then becomes bored once the creatures see stabilization, no longer needing to rise anew. He has abandoned many planets to the squabbles of other gods due to this boredom. This time, he has sworn to stick with this world. Yet, the question remains; will he stay loyal to the planetary organisms, or will he again become tired with them, and instead use an event of mass extinction to begin with his favorite part again: the dawn?
Name: Elios (theredtardis)
Type: God of Water
Bio: Elios was born from the drop of water in the battle between two ancient gods of water. He wandered trough universe (But he is still young)
and saw many births and deaths of planets and stars. He saw many galaxies and other gods creating planets. Bu he didn't stop anywhere.
He knew that his destiny is to create something big... Something important... Intelligent life...
name: Nal'onor (aquos)
type: life
bio: no one knows when or where this god was "created " some say he was one of the first to ever exist others say he is a very joung god some say he has created thousands of planets others say he hasn't even watched as other gods created a planet since that's the only thing people know for sure he does : he watches he watches as other gods create life and as civaliacitions grow to the stars but he never interfers for some reason , when asked wher or when he was created or born or why he does nothing but simply watchin he only answers with "i was asleep but now i'm awakened" do to this some say he himself doesn't even know ,some say he is a danger to the universe others say he's just lazy and weird and will never cause anyone harm..... so far those people seem to be right but jou never know with this strange beeing but for some reason he has finnally decided to stop watching and finally do something he has decided to become one of te gods of this newborn planet
Name: Gabrielus (GabrielGG)
Type: Fire
Bio: "Oh well, I think we need someone to mess up with fire, don't we?" - says Gabrielus, right after exploding an star from inside to outside, pulling its lava in the opposite direction of the core.
Name: "Sunborne" (atrox)
Type: Fire
Bio: This is a truly ancient god, present during the bitter conflict between two fire gods. However, he does not remember any of this. He's been curled up in the core of the sun for billions of years, building up his strength. Now on the genesis of this solar system he emerges from his slumber, his glowing form rising up out of the heat and into the cold vastness of space. Even though it was billions of years ago that he came into existence, it is only now that he will be given a name.
Name: Foushoo (johnwerewright)
Type: God of Wind
Bio: Foushoo is a very mysterious god that is strongly against reckless intervention. In this light, its interventions only are noticed in the "Fush shoo" of wind. It pleads, and occasionally demands, order and moral among the gods.
Foushoo had experience with a past species, The Foudal, before entering the solar system. The Foudal, became highly sentient as a result of Foushoo's reign over them and it sees it must be more careful with showing its power on this planet.
Name: Mr Bigwhiskers (stealthstylel)
Type: Water
Bio: Mr Bigwhiskers is a rather young God, who has yet go learn the patience of his elders. He's fiery tempered and enjoys making trouble. He doesn't, however, enjoy people troubling him. In appearance, he is a squat man with a huge, red moustache and a round nose.
Name Platononix
(evolution4weak)
Type: Earth
Bio: Platononix had No Past,He Was Form From The Making of Planets Of Sunborne and Aragaine,He a newly form god so he doesn't know much but he a quick learner.
Name: My friends,
they call me Meph (tammio).
Type: The ethernal Wind,
that stirs the hearts of men.
Bio: And rightly so: since everything created,
In turn deserves to be annihilated:
Better if nothing came to be.
So all that you call Sin, you see,
Destruction, in short, what you’ve meant
By Evil is my true element
Name: Ferah
Type: Life!
Bio: Ferah is not how you'd see your average "God Of Life." Most of her kind are peace-loving, warm-hearted, fertile queens with very little to quarrel about. They sit around, putting flowers in their hair and flirting with the other gods. Ferah is greatly annoyed by this. Her form looks something like a mix between a deer and a wolf, which perfectly describes her personality. In her past she was infamous by many names for being aggressive and kind in the same turn of her head. Softness is not something she tolerates, and overanger is something she despises. She has caused entire ecosystems to collapse, but has also set down a "plague" of life that spreads across entire planets. It just depends on how this dynamic Goddess is feeling. While she may be a little late to this particular party, she certainly will not go out without being remembered - and not always fondly...
=====
You surround an infant yellow dwarf star. In your timeless eyes it is newly born, but to mortals even its birth took an eternity.
The protoplanetary disk has already begun to settle. Debris has formed into chunks of rock, metal, and, further out, water and gas ices, ready to be formed into a new world. Meanwhile, a handfull of lucky foreign comets has arrived, harboring precious cargo; protocells, microscopic and barely more complex than viruses, but ready to Thrive when presented with the right conditions.
