Just one lone hut for that guy to live in. Makes you wonder how long he's spent alone.
Figures, I kind of imagine the Awakening Stage as sort of like Minecraft or Rust, particularly when you're alone. Isolation enhances the feeling of survival, especially when you're up against the wild beasts and unforgiving elements of the world, when all you have to start with is your wits and some rocks lying around.
It's even more satisfying when you realize that those rocks will eventually get you into space. That spear it's holding? The ideas of force and trajectory stemming from throwing it lead up to rocketry. Its hut? Shelter, just like the metal hull keeping air in and radiation out.

Nice Atrox. What are those two things flying above it's head?

I'm pretty sure that the Awakening stage is going to be played in RTS, but I reviewed the research tree and saw that RTS mode is only unlocked once you research cooperation. Perhaps early Awakening stage will be played like the Aware stage, where you control an individual until Cooperation is unlocked.

It's supposed to be a seamless transition from Aware to Awakening Stage (as in all transitions) and so you can't suddenly go from animal to a tribe. I think the idea is that you start off the stage still in Organism Mode, it's just your are more intellectually capable than animals. Eventually, as you communicate more with members of your species, you will start to form a language. You can then give orders to your companions, and thus, Strategy Mode begins.

Did you draw those trees? Or is it a photo?

I used a photo from the internet.
I just added in the cyclorotan, the birds, and the hut in the background.
