Ideas for multiplayer experience
Lobby planets: template planets where players can meet and interact with eachother.
Joining players games: one or more players can go to other players planets in the form of either a microbe, creature, civilized being, space ship, or an ascendant. And interact with eachother.
Creature sharing: similar to sporepedia. A catalogue of organisms and other things players have made.
Combat:players can attack eachother for dominance.
Symbiosis: 2 players can play as different species on the same planet and either wage war, or co exist.
Custom servers: ppl can create their own server for players to join. The owner could act like an ascended being and be "god" of the server.
That's it for now. This thread is subject to updates or deletion

I like the playing the same planet's ideas, like the symbiosis and the joining other players games

Multiplayer is unfortunately unlikely to be able included in the game, at least in its initial state. If it's possible to make it work it'll be added at some later point.
Of your suggestions, creature sharing is a definite anyway (you can even share saved games, planets or whatever to challenge your friends for survival), and the only other one I could see working is symbiosis. Players would be limited to a single stage, and even then issues with entering the editor at different times would make it difficult to run.
Still, it isn't ruled out completely. We just need to find a viable way of making it work.

Hmm I see. I wish I could help but I have very little skill in game programming. All I can provide that's helpful is concept art. Will thrive have it's own engine?

No. Correct me if I'm wrong it will run on the OGRE engine.

Ogre isn't a game engine, Ogre is a graphics engine. We are currently rolling our own game engine.
