A new steam engine is constructed do to some kind of AI rage.
The reason is not clear, but it is constructed quickly, leaving time for another construction.
BUILD REFINERY(Bonus):
Despite having the time, you don't have the resources to make a refinery.
As such the refinery is cancelled and then you turn around and get back to work on the steam engine.

The drone is deployed to watch the factory from above, occasionally coming down to recharge. To the northeast the storm has gone, but the drone that was seen has not returned. But in that direction traces of coal have been detected. To the southwest, a seemingly alien drone has come from the tower. It made of the same black metal of tower and it has one glowing blue eye. It does nothing but patrol the tower, and watch the factory.

The drone goes quite a ways north, it finds an area that is less dense in trees than most places. It has thin layers of coal just beneath the surface. getting resources from here to the factory will require a method of mass transportation.

The construction goes badly, the steam pressure seams to get to high with the engine. eventaully breaking it and it ends up being scrapped.
Scout for minerals(5):
While scouting for minerals, there are clearings a short ways to the northwest, with thin layers of coal. While scanning this you briefly see another drone, looking for this same resource, it does not notice you. Scanning the south of the factory, you find small deposits of copper along the beach.
Research logging mill(3):
Research is going slowly, but a way of producing saw blades has been made, allowing trees to be cut easily. But cutting the trees is not automated, that part still needs work.
