I just found out that I have noble ancestors . Turns out the last name of my grand grand mother was "VON DOBRZEWINSKI" , and while it doesn't change anything it's still interesting to know that the small German part of my family was aristocratic (and apparently they even owned some kind of castle !)

That reminds me. In Dutch, the aristocracy would often get names with two words in them (Van denbroeck, instead of vandenbroeck) or get names with a small letter vandenbroeck instead of Vandenbroeck). Now, my name is written with a small letter. This is not because I have noble heritage, but because some office clerk made a mistake. He thought we were noble, for some reason. We never really bothered to fix this, so it's still written like that. Also, my somewhat insane uncle always pretends he is noble based on this. But this guy also claims that he is the personal bodyguard of the Pope, so I wouldn't trust him.

Here is a funny quote from a unfunny man regarding the pope.

Do any of you realise how difficult it can be to translate a text between languages? Because of the elections in Germany (no this wont be a discussion on politics!) I translated a commentary from German into English, as a favor to someone. I think I'm fairly fluent in English, but it was hard! It's not only because the constant switching between languages is confusing, but because these languages operate quite differently in sentence structure etc and there are so many words that don't have an exact translation in either language.
Just for example the German concept of "Recht und Ordnung" wich describes a situation in wich the rule of law is followed but also implies that the law of said rule of law is a just/morally right law; whereas the English "rule of law" (in my opinion) does not make any statements on whether the law is actually a GOOD law, only that it is followed.
TLDR: I have a newfound respect for professional translators and I am in awe of simultan-translators

Noticed these two questions on the Dev Forum that I figered were worth talking about: I just thougth about 2 questions: A) If your multicellular species gets split in half by an angry predator killing the cells in the middle what should happen? B) How should agents work? should they be shot from all external cells or just from the front of the creature? The first question brings up intercellular bonds being broken, and implies another question regarding the one cell binding two halves of a group together deciding to break away from the whole colony. In either case, if parts of colonies being able to survive on their own (by being treated as colonies in their own right by the game) is possible, then I’m all for it. If not, then it’s easier to have the whole colony either break up entirely (and possibly recombine, if the predator leaves), or die. As for the second one, I think it makes sense that, if signal agents are enough to coordinate an entire colony’s movement, then they should also allow coordinated agent release on one side.

Yes, it's probably possible, but is it also feasible in game? For example, which body of cells would you take over?

Yes, it's probably possible, but is it also feasible in game? For example, which body of cells would you take over? If it can’t just be the piece with the most cells, then I reckon the game should be able to give each cell a “priority value” based on traits that align with real cells; nervous cells (again, not concrete, but labelled such due to how the player made them) would have a higher value than digestive cells, which would have a higher value than mobility cells. For example, cells considered nervous cells would have the “synapse” external organelle. Either that, or the synapse would add up to a cumulative priority value given to the cell, rather than one based on its arbitrary “type.” The exception I’d make, based on discussion in the thread, is the original cell type, AKA the stem cell. It would have a preassigned priority value too high for its derivatives to feasibly reach, based on Microbe Editor constraints. This is because, without stem cells as described in the thread, an early-stage colony would be unable to reproduce, be it through colony budding or detaching a single stem cell. So, technically, it could still be based on cell amount, if the species isn’t specialized; every cell would have the same priority value.
