I wonder if there'll be any sort of tendency in what players evolve into? In Spore, as far as I know the majority of players tend to evolve into bipedal, often winged creatures. Thrive's driving forces for evolution will be much more different, so that would encourage more variety, but I wonder what "habits" will show up?

Considering how much more difficult it'd be to evolve (unlike Spore's stick 5 legs on in one generation), I say a slug.

I'm afraid Spore has ingrained a reflex action in me, such that I will only ever make winged tyrannosaurs of doom.
Barring that, I can see the wormacle being abused by all in the future.

I meant more along the lines of what the wiki says "It can be used for pretty much anything", and with that option normal limbs would seem boring. But uh, I suppose this is the internet. So.

I meant more along the lines of what the wiki says "It can be used for pretty much anything", and with that option normal limbs would seem boring. But uh, I suppose this is the internet. So. I'd imagine the wormacle'd be much more efficient in water, since as you'd see in videos octopi stuck on land can do naught but crawl. So, to better use the wormacle on land, the player'd have to improve the musculature in them, like the terrestrial cephalopods in The Future is Wild. And then comes the issue that they're not too good for supporting weight, so there'd probably end up being an upper limit to where being a large terrestrial creature with wormacle legs is feasible. Also, the fact that a wormacle might not be stiff enough to use powered flight (in other words, wings) with. On the bright side, buoyant gas bladders sound like they'd go well with wormacles (since they don't weigh as much as a skeletal structure), so a lot of creatures would use those for support and flight and such instead (so depending on how much gas a creature can accumulate the above size ceiling goes a lot higher).

About wormacles and gas bladders, that remind me of a book I haven't reread where there were creatures that actually fit that description, and from what I recall some of them actually float above the sea with some special tentacles underwater to catch prey.
Also, in Thrive there could be vertebrates who use wormacles as manipulatory limbs or for other purposes.

Are you thinking of the Portuguese Man of War? Because that's exactly what it does

Are you thinking of the Portuguese Man of War? Because that's exactly what it does Not really, the creatures I'm talking about are not floating on the surface of water but above it due to being lifted by gas sacks filled with a lighter-than-air gas.

I've made an astonishing discovery a few weeks ago: according to Holidog.com, the European leader for animal services, cats are NOT the stars of the Web, this title goes to dogs. Indeed, there would be 112 million dog videos against 105 million cat videos. Also 78% of questioned men said that they prefer dog videos against 21% of men who prefer cat videos, while women are 56% to prefer dog videos against 42% for cats. And humoristic videos are the most preferred.

In Universe Sandbox 2, there is a simulation where there are 5 Earths sharing the exact same orbit and I wondered how it could actually have happened?

A large collision and the chunks of rock being stabilized in the lagrange points of Earth's orbit?

Speaking of Universe Sandbox 2, I created an interesting system where a star with about 6% more mass than our sun is orbiting a black hole 100 times the mass of the sun. There is a gas planet 30 times the mass of the Earth orbiting about 12 AU (I think) away from the black hole, and it takes about 4 years to complete the orbit. There is also a planet almost twice as massive as Earth orbiting very close to the black hole. It takes only 6.4 seconds for that planet to orbit it once.

Wouldn't that planet burned up because of it's speed or be crushed by the black hole?
