as we know we have 2 stages that focus on water and land based gameplay which is a great start but what bothers me is that thats it boom we go from a simple life form into a land animal and thats not how nature works so i was thinking why not have stages that fill in those gaps (a advance ocean stage to transfer to land/a aphibious stage/permain stage) and optinal stages that happen only when percfic requirements are met (a alternative mesizoica stage/returning into the ocean/a ice age) to flesh out the organic stage a bit more
what do you guys think

All those stages suggested by you will be included inside aware stage, and don't worry, transitions are planned to be very gradual. Multicellular ends with you developing the first proto-brain, so you will start aware as something resembling a simple sea worm. Then you can gradually evolve things like senses, a skeleton, fins, and after a while evolving in the ocean, you will go to land (all those things only if you want. You can always choose to evolve to be the ultimate jellyfish). And in land, you can gradually evolve things like a better posture, an endothermic metabolism, grasper organs, and, in the end, an intelligent brain. In our evolution, everything from the cambrian to the pleistocene would be included in aware. And things like ice ages would be generated randomly, so perhaps you have a couple of them in early game, and then your planet turns into a greenhouse global rainforest.
So, no need for more stages. Although I would like starting the game as bacteria

Ditto.
Although I would add that there probably will be glitchy/cheaty ways to make huge jumps, it would be highly improbable that every single condition could be accounted for when designing the gradual systems.

What they said. We aren't having stages that 'focus on water' or 'focus on land'. In Aware Stage, the main organism stage, you could be a swimming thing or a running thing or a flying thing or a swimming-digging-flying thing, there's no reason really to put a blocker between those different habitats and force you to be in one state in a particular stage. The only thing I can almost guarantee you is that you'll be in water before you go on land. But that's simply because the game starts underwater > glitchy/cheaty ways to make huge jumps What do you mean?

Moopli I meant that I'm certain someone will find an exploit like the Minecraft's diamond duplication glitch, or a more official mechanic that can be farmed at the expense of immersion.

Yeah, there will always be glitches that people will exploit, but that doesn't stop anyone from playing the game normally!
