The Illuminauseus try narrowing their search to alkaline salts. Do they find any?

The Illuminauseus find a large vein of Brucite under the ocean near the crash site. They also find an alien non-metal that glows in the presence of salt...

The Illuminauseus do their level best to absorb some of the Brucite, relying on gradients since they have no digestive tract to speak of. They also take a moment to investigate the glowing stuff. [5]

The carnobaurusi found illuminaseuses digging up Brucite, and then absorbing it.
(I have decided to be more active in describing the players senses, since I am the only one who knows about this environment.)

The sneak attack was a success, but at a cost. The affect doesn't happen immediately, but will now affect both the illuminaseus, and carnobaurus.

Both the Valley and Crater populations make do with their environment, although Crater Herbibaurus often follow trails of the marine moss to the valley. The valley's population has been on the rise, although reproduction can take an hour or more and leaves the splitting Herbibaurus vulnerable.
They do not interact much with the primitive flat creatures, but increased predation by their peers prompts the Herbibaurus to add some caution to their curiosity. With their lack of complex senses, their responses to danger boil down to "crawl in the opposite direction you feel pain."

Also,What Will Happen To Unknown Creature, since he decided to leave... Hmm... Looks like there's a 5-day window for someone to claim it.

I can't tell. It is a slow effect. It will only be prevalent at the end of all turns.
