holomanga was last online on the 5th... We might need someone to replace him/her.
I instituted my new rule on the 15, so I still waited 10 days after that. It is almost(My time) the 25th, but seeing as Holo is probably not coming back, we can have people come now. The reason I don't have a poll up is because only one thing is going to happen. That thing will make a viable story for the extinction of a species.

@unknown lamellipoda refers to little stubs that protrude from a cell's plasma membrane. These stubs allow for "adhesion" to surfaces that allow the cell to walk more efficiently than would a pseudopod. So basically your species will eventually be saddled with cellular "legs".

Ahh thank you. I guess I have a plan of what to do.
The comet has melted thin enough to see through it, they come up on a planet. The planet has a rocky surface with an ocean of liquid water. This planet is hotter than earth Earth, with a high carbon dioxide atmosphere. The only thing keeping it cool enough is the constant rain in some areas of the planet. It is about the size of the Moon as mentioned before. Crashing into the planet, all somehow landing in the small ocean. The ice, as if on command, fractures and free's the new creatures upon the world.
The curious Herbibaurus that survived the crash landing emerge from their respective fragments of the first comet. With the remaining nutrients diffused into the water, the Herbibaurus slowly crawl along the seafloor, looking for food.
Something of note is that they now sport a pair of jaws. As translucent, fat, wormlike creatures, the two boney structures are visible, with the (relatively large but still rather small) brain perched above them. They use the jaws in their endeavor to find edible material (which, they soon realize, does not include sand).
shocked and rather confused about the crash landing a mostly pollywraggle are stil regenariting (if that's even the right word) one who is rather curious and sturdy goes exploring though

It was a gif of a rotating planet, presumably the one we're on.
The Herbibaurus lingering near the Comet 1 crash site wander about, perhaps looking for the Illumonauseus.
Meanwhile, the ones further away from the scattered fragments decide that the sand further away from the crash site is somewhat more palatable than the sand closer in. Presumably, this could have something to do with the crash sites' detritus being kicked up and/or scorched by the ice comets' landing. In terms of eating, the Herbibaurus simply use their lower jaws like shovels, but they do their best to shake the sand particles out. They are still on the search for some real food, not an easy task given that they're blind.
