Anyone wanna speculate what game play would be like when controlling an individual in the Society stage?

Something tells me first person view will be more important than ever, particularly in battles.
Also, people will make MLG parody videos with it. *360 degree turn and headshots enemy soldier with an arrow* *hit mark and airhorns*

Also, people will make MLG parody videos with it. *360 degree turn and headshots enemy soldier with an arrow* *hit mark and airhorns* It's "MLG Parodies" now? Well it fits it better considering montage parodies are barely even parodies of montages anymore.

Maybe you could be inside a society center, acting as a representative member of your species. You could maybe "talk" with others and exchange whatever your version of currency is in order to obtain the goods needed to keep your motives (similar to the motives of earlier stages, but maybe with a need for stimulation or some such) up. So I guess I'm describing a scenario in the vein of sims or a Bethesda game, I'm not too sure how detailed the society center would be since graphics aren't the focus and the team has limited access to higher end software and very few programmers (although based on the membrane designs, I would commend the graphics team on their work so far ). I would probaby spend more time in strategy mode but I guess you could then live out your character's life, going from domicile, to place of work, to entertainment venue (in society stage I guess that would be a theatre?) until you expire or move on to something else. So to sum up, Awakening Stage but in a society center is how I currently imagine it. Edit: Sorry, I used the wrong personal pronoun earlier.

There are a couple of big issues here.
1. Being able to walk around in a 3d city is an INCREDIBLE amount of modelling work. Take something like Assassins creed, it takes hundreds of people thousands of hours to build those cities and we don't have anything like the resources to do that.
2. By showing what the city looks like you have to make a lot of assumptions about the culture and how it is structured. For example how do you show deference? (like holding a door open for someone, or putting out a red carpet, or "giving someone the wall" (which was a thing in the middle ages where you let someone walk close to the wall so they wouldn't get the contents of chamber pots thrown on them from high windows!)) or the opposite (like a guard saying "get out of the way peasant" and shoving you when the lord of the area walks by, as happens in AC).
The issue is if you can walk around in your city either these little things won't be present, which will make the city kind of dull or they will but they will be the same as our cultures on earth (which slightly defeats the point of designing a whole new culture) or they will and the programming burden is just vast.
So there are big problems with this sort of thing. It's a nice idea, but please don't imagine AC style games and think Thrive can ever be like that. We don't have $100m to make this game.
Feel free to discuss whatever you want on this forum and dream about the biggest and wildest ideas, I think that's really cool. Just for your own sake don't set yourself up for disappointment with what the game actually turns out to be.

Oh yeah I was never expecting it to be that complicated and I never really expected any major interactions with other members of your species. It would be cool however to walk through your civilization and see your species mill about their daily lives (even if it means just wandering around randomly). Perhaps some ambient chatter to fill the city streets. Maybe have some member form small groups. Have some running to appear like they're in a hurry while others just calmly walk through the streets. Proper interactions would definitely be cool though.

Features such as that could eeither be added in after the main game is complete, as these games have serious replayability, or someone will make a huge mod

Maybe someone could make a mod that was cooperatively built? Like, one person does the coding; one does the models: ect. Seeing all these ideas, I really want someone to make a mod for it :0

i always hated the sudden change from controling one creature to controling many.what im thinking is when not preparingg stuff your put onto your creature avatar thing (tribe leader, knight, vehicle, captain) which you can wounder around as and do certain tasks but you can switch to control mode when you want your group to do something (attack, defend, gather, save etc) and to build buildings
