It's quite possible there is already a similar thread out there, but if there is it hasn't been seen in a long while and I can't find it. Anyway, the point of this thread is to chat about any creatures you hope to someday create in Thrive. What is your end goal species-wise? Give us all the details about your plans as you like! Of course, you might not even have any ideas or plans. For me personally, I've always been of the belief that it will be more fun to not have any pre-existing ideas. I will simply evolve my creature based on what is beneficial given its surroundings and let the world guide my creating. (Also, I'm not very original.) But if you do have a plan, feel free to share it!

Well, there is of course the species I mentioned a couple threads before, the species , and maybe have a massive amount of castes, creating something like the Zerg from Starcraft. I probably won't be able to make them through normal gameplay, as I have a tendency to, just like StealthStyleL, make everything practical, not pretty or something.

I'm probably going to try and recreate the disturbance, and if not, some sort of sentient frog.

I'm gonna hopefully find a way to create the Ionax but as for first playthrough I'll probably just roll with whatever helps me survive.

I always wanted to create some sort of otter/carnivore cat mix . The females would be smaller and be able to almost fly and the males would be much bigger and stronger but could only glide . (First I wanted to create a realistic Griffin but when I started drawing the first prototype it looked more like an otter and I kinda liked it lol )

I think the first thing I would like to make would be a giant creature covered in tentacles. With a bunch of redundant eyes and mouths. Basically, I want to make a shoggoth and see how that thing will be animated.
Huzzah! I have now been elevated to the rank of sentient.

I know for sure I'm going to be basing my first ever run on the environment I end up in. But I know for sure I'd love to recreate the area my Swamp Strider lives in at the very least from the Day in the Life thread. Maybe even my fish with a harpoon tongue that lives in old volcanic tubes. I think I'll enjoy creating predators the most, whether or not they're apex predators, having to jostle for position in the food chain against other organisms, developing new ways to catch prey or overcome another predator's advantage. Who knows though, once things get that far, I might enjoy the life of an herbivore or scavenger more.

I'll most likely try to invest in a creature that has the brain power to control 6 limbs (4 arms, two legs) Why, you ask? Dual-wielding bows. Anyhow, I think the origin of this species will most likely be in a jungle-like biome, using its arms and legs to get around quickly. Quite similar to human evolution, I'll push the species to live in an environment where swinging around trees is no longer needed, so it'll use its dexterity for other things; such as toolmaking.
That, or I'll get stuck in the pre-prehistoric phase, because I made a dragon and don't want to advance to civilization.

I will try to make my creature a sort of Duck-Chicken like creature, only much bigger (not huge though). They will be physically weak, but quite intelligent. The minute I obtain gunpowder or some other method to launch projectiles at very high speeds while being very compact. That's where the fun begins. I want to out-tech every other civilization or species on my planet in military. And by the late industrial I plan on making all my soldiers basically Halo Spartan-IIs, have armored vehicles for every single company in my army. Aircraft that will resemble the B-21 "Raider" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_Grumman_B-21_Raider) in shape. A Navi that covers the entire planet with over 20 aircraft carriers & battleships with thousands of screens. And missiles with standards of being around DF-41 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DF-41) quality.
After industrial I don't know, space is full of mysteries.

Not for a main playthrough, but perhaps some kind of creature with the ability to move + sensory organs but uses chloroplasts (or a similar method) as its primary source of energy.

Uhh, that might be a little tricky. Creatures can't use just chloroplasts for food, as they use up too much of their energy just moving. They would have to both consume other organisms along with photosynthesis.

I'd probably make some kind of sea goliath creature. A microbial member? (at time of post) That must mean you are new! Welcome!
