About the receptors, you are right, baroreceptors are the name for the mechanoreceptors in the cardiovascular system. What I aimed to achieve was to develop a mechanoreceptor able to distinguish changes in the barometric pressure, such as because of animal movement. Being technical, I guess the right word would be a lateral line system (as in fish), a hydrodynamic sense (as is sea snakes) or a specialized underwater mechanoreceptor (as in the bill of platypus).

I apologise for the confusion and hope to not make the same mistake again.

Round 4 – Anablephobia
After several thousand years of overfeeding, the microbes living amongst the bottom have experienced a horrendous dwindling in numbers. Without these, all respective bottom dwelling organisms that feed on these are facing extinction. The first major ecosystem collapse this world has seen… (Every round a proto worm has an only microbe diet, they lose a conservation status point)

Description: An unfortunate turn in this worms development has caused it to completely loose its primitive teeth, causing it to lose its former diet. However, it did evolve an improved nervous system, with a slightly larger brain central nervous system as well as faster and more efficient nerves. This increases reaction time, as well as increases its potential for a size increase, with a more efficient diet perhaps…

Description: This organism has evolved two large useless appendages that almost immobilises the creature. To compensate for this, the worm has evolved an improved musculature that allows it to still move around. Speed is not on the agenda at this point in time, so this worm is still in the clear, and this creature’s diet is its real downfall.

Description: This organism has been able to evolve fins useful in both manoeuvrability and speed. This allows better access to food, including the remaining microbes. Its digestive tract has slightly increased in size, too subtle to make much of a difference.

Description: Surprisingly, despite the lack of microbes, this creature has for some reason doubled in size. This was poor choice for something with such little food. This creature has also developed its primitive fins that allow for much better movement. This allows it to, in short leaps, swim up to eat some of the microbes above their environment. This does not fully compensate for the creature’s sudden size increase however…

Description: This creature has remained the same size, but further developed its digestion system, allowing for more efficient digestion of what little microbes are left, allowing scarce meals to be rewarding. It would require either meat dissolving enzymes or primitive teeth to change its diet.

So how could I migrate ? I think improving my hunting methods or digestive system doesn't make much sense because there's not enough food for me right ?
