New release candidate (for windows) available to be downloaded! Please post the bugs you encounter here, along with a short description, a way to replicate the bug (if at all possible) and an image if needed. Edit: here is a linux version (thanks hhyyrylainen!).

The game crashed two times, in the editor and in the microbe stage, without me doing any specific action. Also, in the microbe stage part, just after leaving the starting tutorial, I started with 0 of every compound, so I was about to die and couldn't do anything to prevent it, but the game crashed before that could happen. Maybe that happened because I accidentally pressed the button for new microbe in the editor.

It seems like some of the gui buttons randomly stop working.

Literally the same as the previous release candidate. This as been a problem for the past couple of versions. The hitboxes move for some reason that no-one can figure out. It will likely be fixed with the new GUI.

It seems the balance issues I pointed out earlier are gone, but I can't fully tell because I'm having some new technical issues. The music of the intro scene is out of sync with the speed of the scene, it feels like it goes by too fast (though this is not a new issue I had this with the previous RC too). --- Description: The new issue is that the game crashes unexpectedly very quickly into gameplay. I can't figure out what specifically causes it, but just a minute or more into the game, every time, will give me a CTD. Replication: Play the game for about a minute or more. Additional Info:

Just one minor thing: the organelles no longer glow green or red in the editor to show whether they can be placed or not.

Seems like the program is trying to dereference a null pointer. Since the issue just occurred, I am hoping it has something to do with the glsl shaders. Could you copy over the material folder from rc1 into rc2 and see if you still get the issue?

Hello, I have an issue with the game crashing. This happened with both rc1 and rc2, giving the same windows error report.
The game crashes either right when you exit the tutorial microbe editor, or in the microbe stage after a while. I have to use ctrl-alt-del to navigate out and use taskmanager to kill the program. Windows crash report points to these in 'additional info' drop down:
C:\Users\Omistaja\AppData\Local\Temp\WER4D56.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml C:\Users\Omistaja\AppData\Local\Temp\WER5A23.tmp.appcompat.txt C:\Users\Omistaja\AppData\Local\Temp\WER5A62.tmp.mdmp
Although after I just tried, I can't find those exact files in the temp file, only the ones left there from a previous run that crashed.

Good news, it seems your fix worked! I played for a good half hour without any issues, and even managed to reproduce.
Also, back to the balance issue, now that I'm able to play for more than a minute I realized it's not an issue with balancing, it's just that the time and effort that it takes to reproduce is actually lengthy and challenging and fun now, so great job! I spent about twenty minutes collecting compounds, and each time I would see an organelle replicate it was a cool moment of satisfaction, and when I finally entered the editor it was much more satisfying. I also think this new reproduction system will be great at culling the runaway effect of making cells really big with tons of organelles, because in previous versions you could just keep packing organelles onto your cell and improve your competitiveness in the environment so much that you'd be returning to the editor every 5 minutes. Now if you add lots of organelles you have to pay the price of having a much higher threshold of compounds needed to reproduce.
Also, is there a reason that amino acids get instantly consumed as soon as they are made, whereas fatty acids seem to stock up a bit?

I applied the same fix and I also was able to play. After playing a while I found a minor bug. If you grow just enough for a couple organelles to divide, and then you die, when you are respawned your cell appears with cytoplasm where the divided organelles were, instead os being just the cell as if was before your organelles first divided.

Why do the microbes seem to move so much slower in this version?

Why do the microbes seem to move so much slower in this version? we cut the speed down to around 1/3 of what it was.

I have just downloaded the new version (great job with the random cells ). I was playing like one or two minutes and the game crashed giving me only the message of "This program has stopped working", I tried to play again many times but with the same result. I hope you'll find the solution soon because I think this game has even more potential than the 2008 Beta Spore (yes I found Thrive while I was searching for some games like Spore).

Yeah, we have a memory leak, so the program crashes quickly. We're working on a fix.

I have NVIDIA 750 Geforce, 8gb of RAM, and a intel core 5 with 3.20 GHz.
