Great work, I can't wait to see the new GU, but I found a few bugs. My cell never made any amino acids, all of the cell membranes were mostly transparent, and my cell's nucleus was white. aren't the cell membranes supposed to be transparent?

By transparent, I mean that the cell's membrane had no texture. like this: EDIT: The cells also looked like this in 0.3.2

In this version, and in 0.3.2, I was able to see the texture of the membrane. So, maybe there is a problem with your download/ ogre version / computer...?

Yeah, I had that membrane/nucleus problem too. I used to be able to see the membranes and nuclei as they should have been, but I got a new graphics card for Christmas and ended up messing with drivers. It must be a computer or driver problem.

I'm assuming you're running on an ad graphics card? If yes, then it's a known issue that I'm working in fixing right now. To get amino acids you need a bunch of ammonia and as soon as you get it, it's transfered to your compounds, so it'll look like you always have 0. The process system is a tad broken at the moment, but if you hoard massive amounts of glucose and ammonia it should work.

If it will always look as if they are 0, maybe it would be better to not have amino acids in the list, so you can have a cleaner screen.

Well, you're going to start stockpiling amino acids as soon as you're done reproducing.

You could show the amount you have locked away for reproduction, but show the text in red, and do something similar for the new GUI.

I meant to make it clear you weren't somehow unable to produce amino acids.

Awesome news!
Since a lot of people have pointed out cases of bugs and CTDs, I'll point some gameplay/balance issues I noticed. I played for about 20 minutes and wasn't able to reproduce, and I kept collecting glucose and ammonia but it just wouldn't happen. Part of the problem was that my stores full, so I started swimming very fast in one direction to expend glucose into ATP to free up some more space. In my opinion it felt like there were too many compound clouds, particularly since I was just trying to excrete compounds without taking anything else in. Also, it made me realize that my cell was not even excreting when stationary, because whatever was being excreted was being ejected from the cell at the center and then being immediately reabsorbed the next frame, so it was only when your cell was moving quickly in a certain direction that excretion was even possible.
All in all I really like the new feeling of the gameplay with the reproduction overhaul, because I think the essential theme of the first half of the game being survival revolves around the struggle to reproduce, and we're starting to capture that.

Yeah, I had the same problem (I really regret putting all of my points in cytoplasm and only one vacuole, lol). Wouldn't it be possible to add a feature that allows releasing compound clouds behind you manually? Maybe a "release-button" down in the gui where you can throw out compounds or select the agents that will be added eventually.

I don't know if anybody else noticed this, but when you die, the game crashes. For me at least.
