Four 'stars' seems to be the maximum amount allowed in one line. I could shorten the image, but that would ruin the 'Thrive-themed' DNA. (it'd need to keep its length in order to have two different-colored helices) Are we using the golden DNA image anywhere?
EDIT: Or, we could just give the 'stars' more room, if that's possible. EDIT #2: Actually, it turns out that all of the DNA images I made have two differently colored helices, it's just more noticeable on the Thrive-themed one.

New Organism!
Name: Detiza
Description: A small, green lizard-like creature with huge sharp teeth. Groups of Detiza hide next to Ajen Tabyri. When a creature eats the berries, the Detiza attack, using the Ajen's poison to their advantage.
They are carnivorous and immune to the Ajen's toxins.
A bunch of nearby Ajen Tabyri absorbs the water through its roots. Meanwhile, a group of Detiza hide underneath it, camouflaged thanks to their green skin.

I think people should bold the names of organisms. Not only their own, but others', too, so people can easily see when their organisms are being interacted with.

There is some Ajen Tabyri nearby, doing absolutely nothing interesting at all. (I'll introduce a new organism soon. Being a plant is boring)

The GUI's size is a bit exaggerated in the images.

Name: Ajen Tabyri - (AA-jen TAH-ber-eye) Description: A plant with rainbow colored berries. The berries may appear appetizing, but are in fact extremely poisonous. There is a bunch of Ajen Tabyri growing nearby.

There are two separate boards for Roleplays and Forum Games on the forums where I come from. I think it's probably best to create a new board for Roleplays, and another for Forum Games, so that that it's easier to know where to look for them. You'd probably need to enforce a No-Godmodding rule in the Roleplay board or something too, so nobody flies in and kills everyone instantly with their god powers!

Hello all. So I've been playing Thrive 0.2.4 a bit, and I've noticed a couple of problems with the GUI in the game. So, I decided to try and fix it, and see what you guys think. These changes mostly improve visibility and gameplay. GUI Image 1GUI Image 1, explainedChanges/Notes:- Button in bottom left corner pauses the game (see GUI Image 3) when clicked, or when ESC is pressed.
- Editor button is in bottom left corner.
- The Editor button is grayed out because the player's cell has not yet split.
- Oxygen, CO2, Glucose and Ammonia now have small icons next to them, and ATP is bolded.
- The health and name of the player's microbe is above the list of compounds.
- The cell no longer points towards the cursor.
I'm not really sure about the last one. I added it because when the player clicks an on-screen button, the cell would always turn and look in its direction, which kind of bothered me. GUI Image 2GUI Image 2, explained Changes/Notes:- The player's cell has already split.
- The Editor button is clickable because the player's cell has split.
- The health bar turns red when it is low.
GUI Image 3GUI Image 3, explained Changes/Notes:- Accessed by pressing the pause button in the bottom left corner or the ESC key.
- Contains most of the options that were previously next to the button in the bottom left corner: Save Game, Options, Help, Main Menu, Quit.
- The Thrive logo is somewhere on this screen
- Everything but the buttons themselves are darkened.
The Editor GUI would also have some of these changes, such as having a pause menu, the name box being in the bottom right, etc. What do you think? Devs, would you consider adding these changes to the game? -Cobalt

Adding the Solar System and Humankind somewhere in the player's galaxy would be pretty cool. The game would treat Humans just like any other race, and they'll evolve/advance randomly. When your species discovers Earth, they might find that Humans have become space faring, or they might discover everything in ruins, thanks to nuclear war.

If you've played Spore, you've probably seen how the game doesn't seem to correctly capture the amount of time that passes in between evolutions. Your new creature always just popped out of the egg your previous creature laid. Except... If you've looked at the history, you would have seen text at the top telling the real amount of time that passed. Image LinkNotice at the top, it says "+500,000,000 years." I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that's accurate. It also shows up when you invent new tools in Tribal stage, befriend/destroy Nations in Civilization stage, etc. The problem is that the player hardly ever even sees those numbers. The history menu is only opened when you reach a new stage, and maybe a few times during gameplay, by the player. And the text is hardly even visible! What Thrive needs to do is make sure that the player knows that time is passing. It needs to be visible. Maybe during loading screens, after you update your organism, some text appears, saying "500,000,000 years later" or whatever. Or maybe it could appear in the corner of the screen in a small popup box or something. (By the way, this is my first post. Hello, everybody!)~Cobalt~
