Chapter 1: Just Another Day
It seemed like any typical day aboard the Explorer starcruiser. People and robots running this way and that, cleaner droids freaking out over someone's dirty shoes, Chief Exterminator Hoffman sending me another angry holographic message about how I wasn`t performing up to his expectations...fellow Exterminator Naomi Thompson leaving a message *blushes*. Uh, anyway! I was in my usual getup, my Exterminator coat, visor, EBA (Emergency Breathing Apparatus) and my personal touch, my Space Marines shirt, blue jeans (most Exterminators prefer to just wear a Biosuit under their coats) and my old cowboy boots I got from my dad. A few hours had passed and, as I was strolling on down the Starbridge, I received a call from Hoffman telling me that I was to report to his office immediately.
After dodging a few obsessive cleaner droids, swinging on by the ship's lab to see how the TYR project was coming along and grabbing a bite to eat, I finally made it to Hoffman's office where he gave his usual greeting for whenever I walk in the door. "You`re late!" he growled at me as I nonchalantly tossed to the burrito I was having into a nearby trash-bin. I sarcastically asked him if he called me down so he could have something to yell at, to which he merely sneered and beckoned me to come and sit at his desk. "We`ve just received a call from Cerulean, they`ve been having sightings of bug-like aliens all over the fringes of the cities. It`s not anything serious but they told me to send someone in to try figure what`s causing them to appear and if possible, get rid of it." After a witty remark about how I was basically being sent to another planet for what could be described as doing a check-up, he grumbled something and merely replied "You have your job. Now go and get it done!"
I took my leave and headed over the Exterminator-Only division of the cruiser. I looked out for any sight of Naomi, but I was told she was already off doing an Extermination job. And so, with a sigh of contempt, I strolled on up to my personal starwing, the Death's Head, hopped in, punched in the coordinates for Cerulean and blasted off at light-speed to what I currently didn`t know would be the craziest job of my life.
(Lemme know what you think so far )
