So, I spent some time making this. It's basically a game board for a Civilization-esque space forum game.
Here's the link.
The grid on the left is the game board itself. The squares are solar systems (spaces), the circles are stars, and the small rectangles are planets (three per system).
The rectangle on the right functions as both a map key and a color palette for editing. The circles under the star are different types of star (red dwarf, yellow main sequence, blue giant). The circles under the planet show the color of planets with different climates (horizontal is temperature, vertical is atmosphere density). Both show color that would be filled into the circles and rectangles on the board respectively.
The blank space in each square could be colored with the color of whatever player owns them.
A reasonable star layout is 60 red, 30 yellow, and 10 blue stars.
Edit: Misspelled title. Whoops.

I don't really get it, whats the goal of this? I made this in my free time. It could be used as a game board for something like the Civilization series. I screwed around with dice to make the Scio Cluster in the "Fan Worlds" subforum for fun. Actually got more habitable planets than I thought I would get.

How does it work actually?

How does it work actually? I suppose the actual rules would be up to the original poster, but I think it'd basically involve each player getting a system, then being able to expand to adjacent ones at some point, and being able to expand from those and so on. The player would pick which planet to colonize, and the blank space in the square would turn to that player's empire's color. They'd be able to invest in terraforming the planet to an adjacent planet type on the climate grid, which could take several turns. Ideally, they'd make it to the center tile, which is when their colony can grow to its full potential. From there, they could prioritize things in the power grid (agriculture to sustain population, industry to build things faster, etc.). The population would increase by a fraction of itself every turn, so food would have to be grown or imported. The player would make money based on their empire's population. My idea for combat is that players could order spaceships to be built. There would be a maximum in each system. They would be able to be sent a certain radius around systems to invade. If there are defending ships, then the person who started the game would do dice rolls or coin tosses for the attacking ships, choosing whether each one destroys an enemy or is destroyed. After all local ships are destroyed or driven away, the attacker can make a bid to occupy the planets themselves, which takes dice rolls of its own based on how well-defended the planet is. After success, the attacker occupies it. The players could be able to customize the race they play as (exothermic- faster growth, endothermic- not as hindered by climates not in the center). There's have to be a Google Doc or something to keep track of all the systems, who owns them, etc.
