I fiddled with the member ranks a little while ago, bumping up the threshold post counts and reducing the numbers of stars a bit. I was thinking of making the posting ranks go through different colours of stars, but then again they're essentially meaningless eyecandy anyway. Anybody have any thoughts or ideas on how meaningful they should be, what I should do with them, etc? Edit: Apparently you can edit the images If someone could whip up a small, seamless DNA image or something, that would be awesome. Huh. after my experimentation, I lost my stars.

Huh. after my experimentation, I lost my stars. Not anymore. Oliveriver to the rescue! Anyway, they don't need to be meaningful really, just a way for people to show how much people have contributed. Post counts could also show this, but hey, the stars are just trinkets.

Now we just need to adjust the post thresholds again so that it doesn't overflow onto two lines...

Four 'stars' seems to be the maximum amount allowed in one line. I could shorten the image, but that would ruin the 'Thrive-themed' DNA. (it'd need to keep its length in order to have two different-colored helices) Are we using the golden DNA image anywhere?
EDIT: Or, we could just give the 'stars' more room, if that's possible. EDIT #2: Actually, it turns out that all of the DNA images I made have two differently colored helices, it's just more noticeable on the Thrive-themed one.

We are using it, but it's a secret. We might have to wait a while for someone to get the required post count for it...

I think I might've figured out a way for the 'stars' to be smaller. I've split the rectangles into two squares. + + + All odd numbered stars (1, 3, 5...) would use the first square, and all even numbered stars (2, 4, 6...) would use the second. For example, the first star would be , the second would be , the third would be , the fourth would be , etc. Therefore, five stars would look like this: And not like this. Not exactly sure how possible this is, though.

Good idea, but we only get one image we can use instead of a star.
However, if the backbone ribbons of your DNA images had different inner and outer colours, instead of one ribbon being one colour and the other being different, then we'll be able to use that cutting-in-half trick.
Does that make sense?

Yes, I think it does. I'll have to re-draw them though.
