Thought I'd make something relatively simple.
What you do is make up an organism, or group of organisms, and have them interact with those of other "players" in the thread.
Now and then I might have an event happen, like an asteroid strike, although the entire planet has no given terrain and is up to the players' imagination, although realism is preferred (have an explanation for seemingly unnatural terrain). Same for the local solar system.
Vegetation is a given, and is not controlled by any player unless they are controlling a plant themselves.
RULES: 1. You can have any number of species. 2. Organisms can be any level of complexity, and don't have to be animals. Again, realism is preferred. 3. Organisms must have a name and description. Pictures are entirely optional. 4. Sapient beings must start at the Awakening Stage. 5. You can have your organism evolve, although no passage of time is imposed on others' creatures. 7. No godmodding. Godmodding is loosely defined as not allowing anything that transpires to hinder you. If you're prey being chased by a predator, you don't simply say that you escaped. On the other hand, the other player can't simply say he/she catches you. 8. Any disputes between players, if no agreement is reached, will be handled by me or moderators. If it's between moderators, head to the bunkers and prepare for the worst. 9. No life from other planets is allowed, unless your sapient species discovers it themselves. Such things otherwise occur in events only. X. Rules may be modified at any time as needed.

Name: Notdrownasaurus Description: A carnivorous reptilian creature. Similar to a plesiosaur, and is gray with black stripes and blue bioluminescent spots. Unlike real plesiosaurs, is able to arch is head like a swan. Lives in coastal waters, and is able to come on to land, although is slow and awkward out of water.
Notdrownasaurus swims along the coast, looking for prey. Not finding anything, it comes ashore to rest on the beach.
Edit: I think Notdrownasaurus just sneezed. Still sitting there, though.

Name: Rockweeds Description: A plant (well, a family), much like Earthling plants -- contains chloroplasts, has cellulose cell walls, and everything. Unlike the Earthling plants most of us know best, the sea polyp plants, of which the rockweeds are one family, never developed vascularization. Luckily, living in the intertidal zone means that you can get water, nutrients, and all the other good stuff at various times of day, no roots or stems necessary. A single rockweed looks rather unassuming, like a little green mossy lump, sticking to the rock beneath it -- however, as they are almost never found alone, they manage to greatly shape their surroundings. You see, the common rockweed hit upon a simple little adaptation: intracellular Calcium levels can rise rather high, thanks to the constant washing in of diatoms and other calcareous plankton with the constant surf and tides. Other sea polyp plants all dealt with this by simply pumping the Calcium back out from where it came, which didn't offer a permanent solution to the problem; but the rockweeds, through a simple mutation to which surfaces would express the Calcium pump, ended up laying down Calcium Carbonate right where they sat.
Not only did this make it possible for the rockweeds to decrease the amount of Calcium in the water, making their surroundings more hospitable, but their constant action, laying down more Calcium Carbonate beneath them, produces landscapes much like a coral reef on Earth -- vast networks of polyp-covered limestone, breaking the surf, providing vast amounts of surface for rockweed (and other things) to cling to, hidey-holes for various organisms, and isolating small tide-pools on even the rockiest coasts which the rockweeds call home.

Name: Ajen Tabyri - (AA-jen TAH-ber-eye) Description: A plant with rainbow colored berries. The berries may appear appetizing, but are in fact extremely poisonous. There is a bunch of Ajen Tabyri growing nearby.

Notdrownasaurus heads back into the water. Expecting sand and the occasional rock, it is surprised to find a colony of Rockweeds. It circles above the lumpy aquatic hill. This wasn't there before, was it? Its attention is diverted to something more important.
Name: Polypguin Description: A species similar in niche to Earth's parrotfish. They are rotund, with two large legs ending in flippers that allow them to escape from predators quickly, as well as two smaller front limbs with dexterous hands that can grab onto rockweed around the ones it intends to eat. They have round heads ending in a small, hard beak that can bite into the surface of a rockweed colony, ripping individual plants from the limestone they stick to. Some rock is eaten by accident, but the digestive system disposes of it in waste, covering the ocean floor and beaches in fresh sand. They are about the size of a human hand.
Notdrownasaurus sees numerous Polypguins schooling about the Rockweed colony. Elated upon finding prey at last, it dives down and takes some into its toothy maw as the others swim away. Notdrownasaurus attempts to catch some more, but they all hide within crevices in the colony caused by their grazing over the years.
Annoyed, and being an impatient predator, Notdrownasaurus snorts loudly and heads back to its spot on the beach as the Polypguins return to their feeding.
Edit: While laying, Notdrownasaurus archs its neck and notices the Ajen Tabyri growing on the sandy earth. Notdrownasaurus stares at the plants in confusion. What's with new things popping out of nowhere? It is about to resume resting when the smell of rotten corpses of herbivores fooled by the poisonous berries drifts over to it. It growls in annoyance and heads back into the water in hopes of finding a different, and less smelly, spot.
Edit 2: Name: Blunderplod Description: Short, stout herbivores the size of pigs that look like aardvarks, except have droopy ears and wider legs, short and thick tails, and thin, black fur. They feed on both the leaves and berries of Ajen Tabyri plants, and are born with an organ that dispenses the antidote to the berries' poison. However, as they grow older, the organ weakens and eventually ceases to function. The Blunderplods are too unintelligent to notice their failing immunity, and can be found dropping dead. Decomposers then provide nutrients to the plants.
A single Blunderplod walks over to the spot Notdrownasaurus was just at, finds nothing, and returns to the dense brush.

Name:Rilus Hausa Description: A human sized omnivore that has 2 forearms and 2 legs, as well as large wings on its back, prefer to live in mountaious regions as they live in caves, pack hunter-gatheres. Furry and with excellent sight and night vision. Venomous fangs that are ineffective against others of their kind, and strong back legs and powerful claws, can be compaired to a large dog or werewolf aesthetically.
A/N: this is my first time doing something like this so if I'm doing something wrong please tell me

It depends on what the roleplay/game is about. In this case, you make up a species (my initial idea was for individual creatures, but the idea seems to have evolved), and control them interacting with those of other players, particularly individuals they are controlling themselves. This can include predator-prey hunts, with one player playing the predator and another the prey, wars between two players controlling sapient species, etc.
Since the Rilus Hausa seem to be the only mountain creatures with players (the rest are in coastal waters or on the beach), I think I'll make one up.
Name: Skrawx Description: Look not unlike Gallimumuses, with grayish-pink skin and black feathers on their arms and torso, and, in the case of males, heads. Their feet are specialized to grip rough stone, allowing them to traverse mountainous terrain with ease. They are herbivorous and graze highland grasses. They are typically loners, but will live with their mates until their children grow up enough to fend for themselves.
A single female Skrawx is grazing sparse grasses on a slope, occasionally sticking her head up to make sure there aren't any predators. Unfortunately for her, she's right within Rilus Hausa territory...

Note: the mountains could be near the coast,or my creatures could travel a lot because they fly also I'm not quite sure how intelligent we are spossed to be at start so mine are pack hunters who have a complex social structure and language but only basic(rocks) use of technology.
A small group of 3 Hausa fly though the sky, sent ahead of the rest of their hunting party to look for potential prey, the lead of the pack wants food brought in for the pregnant females but food has been scarce this season, and the fruits of the nearby trees haven't been as fruitful as hoped, a small shape forms on the mountain side, and the leader of the group, barely past pubescent, spots it first and gives a quick growel to change course.

Note: I've heard that mountains block rain from reaching from the coast to inland areas... Maybe there could be a desert on the other side, and a rainforest at the base of the coast-side? There'd still be quite a distance between them all, though.
The Skrawx plucks another mouthful of grass, and looks up to find a distant group of Hausa. She freezes to assess the situation. When she verifies that they are headed her way, she bolts in the opposite direction.
Meanwhile, the Blunderplod from earlier, in his old age, has a failing antidote organ. He eats a cluster of berries from an Ajen Tabyri, starts to walk off... and promptly dies.
The Notdrownasaurus is still searching for an area with cleaner air. It finds a sandbar, and lays down on it, relishing in the air that doesn't smell like rotten corpses.

A/N: that would allow a large diversity in a small area and havemore player interactions, so that's good.
The young Hausa sees the Skrawx and feels a moment of disappointment, asmall creature and only one, a herd or something larger would feed more, and be better looking to the females. He looks back at the two adolescents he leads, and hopes they will do what they need to, but are eager and not a little hungry. He looks back and sees the Skrawx attempting to leave, well at least it'll be a hunt, he looks at the one to his right and spits the group, one to try to fly over her and stop her, and the other to stay in the sky to make sure she doesn't try to bolt a different way, then he dives down to her himself

The Skrawx continues running, looking behind her now and then at the Hausa. Although not intelligent enough to notice the trick they're pulling, she does have the capacity to understand that the group chasing her is gaining on her. She runs even faster.
Eventually, she passes by two other Skrawx; a female grazing further up the slope on a flatter area, and a male slightly further down drinking a puddle of melted snow from uphill. Since they're both looking out like the first one was, they notice that one running, look a bit further up, and start running themselves.
The female further uphill stumbles slightly on a rock, but continues at the same rate, although is barely ahead of the first one. The male takes a gradual turn downhill.

Note: Didn't notice your edited post. Technology starts at the Awakening Stage, basically Homo Habilis level, so you're alright on that. Also, dang, those guys are pretty good strategists!
The two female Skrawxes continue running. The one further uphill runs a bit downhill, and is now next to the other female.
The male, meanwhile, is running as fast as he can from the leader Hausa. His downhill momentum allows him to go faster, but, then again, the same can be said for the leader Hausa, who is gaining on him.
A lone male Skrawx on a different mountain, slightly higher than the females' altitude, notices the chase going on. He bolts in the direction the two females are running, but trips and falls on the steep, rocky terrain he was grazing on. He lets out a screech as he tumbles, eventually righting himself. He is further ahead than the other three, but the screech, while not especially loud, carries quite a distance. It doesn't help that the mountains bounce most of the noise in the direction the Hauses came from...

Wow I just looked up the creature you said yours were like and your creature is a lot bigger than I thought, and sorry about defining their sizes, I don't know what the gender differences of your species was, also I tend to edit my posts and not mark that in case something comes up that you didn't see before, sorry

"Smaller than Hauses" is fine.
Also, I didn't scroll up between posts until then, so you're fine. Saying "edit:" at the bottom when you edit is pretty helpful, though.

The young Hausa cannot be live his luck, a entire herd of 4! If only he had been given 2 or 3 more hunters he could take them all and would be given a place of honor, especially since this year's hunt had been so light, but no, only the three of them, and 4 Skrawx, the yell didn't help, more predators could hear and decide they want a meal, or worse, another party would take his rightful hunt! He decides that hunting the 1st male wouldnt work, the other male could replace him anyway, so he slightly changedhis course back to the females where his 2 packmates where coming in on the sides making sure they didn't change direction. Good they were doing what he said, he then flies even faster to try getting ahead and cutting them off, then the 2 others would dive in for the kill like the pack always practiced, by then the male should be with the 2 females and he would get 3 kills today and be rewarded when he called the rest of the party to him.

The first male noticed the leader Haus changing targets, and took a U-turn to what he assumed would be safety. He then ducked behind a tuft of mountain grasses to catch his breath and see what would happen.
The second male continued running, running past a third male, who had been resting under an empty fruit tree up until the screech. Startled, he looked around, and, finally noticing the Hauses, got up to run.

[/quote] The young Hausa still couldn't belive this, there were 5! 5 skrawx!Even if one was no longer in his vision there were still 4, the problem is the spacing, the 2nd male is to far forward to be corralled, and the 2nd female is falling behind, if he focused on trying to bring the male back he could lose her, if he got her he could lose the male, the 3rd male wasn't a problem yet, he was still slow because he wasn't back to full speed, and the others were tiring, because his group was flying they could go farther but if they went to far the others wouldn't hear his call and he could end up in another's territory He decided that his pack had to try for all four, the females needed food, and his younger huntmates were tiring, even as he saw the one guarding the second female nip at her to keep her up to the first,he decided this hunt was to big for his group alone and had to end soon, so he tilted his head as far back as he could while straining to catch up and roared.

Note: I didn't have the second female nip the first, but it's fine.
The two females were startled by the roar. They both tripped. The second female wound up bumping into the first female, who was having a hard time righting herself, causing the first to lose her balance and fall completely, rolling a short ways downhill. The second female scrambled to right herself, and continued running.
The second and third males slowed down to a stop on hearing the roar. They were ready to bolt at any moment, but wanted to see if the Hauses would go after the two females instead of them.
The first male got up from his hiding spot and made a run for it, continuing his run in the opposite direction of the rest.
Elsewhere, the Polypguins were still nipping away at Rockweed, the Notdrownasaurus fell asleep, and the Blunderplods were browsing, and occasionally dropping dead.

Note: no it was one of the hunters that nipped he's trying to keep the females together so they'll all go down together, also if you want I could create another creature for the beach scene. The roar echoed across the mountains, designed and perfected over generations to go as far as possible, this one was only one of many and had a specific message to those that understood it "many prey" and the small group of hunters that heard it certainly understood as they changed their course to met up with their Hausa brothers The young Hausa almost laughed as the two females tripped over each other and the males stopped in their tracks. It was then that he gave a diffrent roar, not as loud but loud enough for the twoyoung hunters to understand "strike" and they dove one at each female, and the leader continued on try and dive at the males, maybe he could bit one and tackle the other to get them both before the others arrived.
