Inspired by a conversation in the Skype Group, I decided to record myself playing Spore as a featureless maggot with only a single filter mouth. I suppose I might record the other stages later. (this is alright to put in here, right?)

How are you going to get past the creature stage?

Very slowly. I was mostly befriending creatures with low social abilities with the help of my pack and the Siren Song ability and getting DNA for allying nests. Recently though I have been trying to lure hostiles to my nest so my pack and nestmates can kill them - eventually, I will have killed all members of the hostile species and I will get a DNA reward. Thankfully hostiles can't attack me when I'm inside my nest.

How are you going to get past the creature stage? The trick is befriending all the early stage creatures, then using them to befriend some more powerful bodyguards. I'm nearly done with the creature stage myself, while doing this same challenge

It's not as if it will pose any challenge after tribal stage.

Yeah once you beat tribal, the creature you're controlling doesn't matter at all anymore. Once you pass tribal stage, you basically won the challenge. I'm currently stuck on tribal.

I just recalled that tribal stage clothing gives bonuses. I think it would violate the spirit of the challenge to use the outfitter, wouldn't it?

It's really hard to divide your small population village into groups that will give gifts to appease the other villages to buy you time to harvest more food to give gifts to buy you time to harvest more food WITHOUT any harvesting clothing. On top of that you need to somehow take a moment to move your entire village across the continent to fully ally with one of the villages WITHOUT any social clothing. Destroying other villages is absolutely out of the question because you have no offensive power whatsoever. So far I've befriended two villages.

Well the point is to do the bare minimum so if I can't do it at that point, I'll allow myself a single lvl 1 social item. Or I'll try to brute force them I dunno.

I don't even count the fourth ability when I play. I just pretend it isn't there.
