I thought of this and I've been waiting for a good time to post this, but I thought of something for the community. Thrive should have competitions for creatures! What would go down would start with a theme; let's say Pokemon. There'd be a notice on the forums"Announcement: Thrive's creature contest has begun at March 1rst and will end at March 31rst. Theme is Pokemon!", which would mean that throughout the month, a theme would be given to allow players to create as best they can a creature in thrive that best resembles a pokemon of their choosing. And each month can be different. A theme could be Hellboy creatures, or it could be Darwin V creatures, or even dinosaurs. And by the end of the month, user submissions can be voted by any users in a poll. The winner could get anything from brownie points, to a picture of his/her creature with the devs signatures(if they'd be willing to), and have their post or name slapped on a winner of the month page. I don't know, but I feel this could be a good way to get interaction with the community that plays the game in the future.

Adding to this, how about an "evolution contest" which is the same as above, but contestants also must provide a video or images of them evolving up to the "goal" creature?

(I'm so sorry this image is so large. >.< )
EDIT: And for a hypothetical Pokémon theme, I would definitely try for a Donphan.

That reminds me that last year, I came up with the idea of doing a wildlife documentary contest with Thrive.

I`m sorry to go into fanboy mode I freaking LOVED "Walking with Dinosaurs"! I have it on DVD along with "Walking with Prehistoric Beasts" and "Walking With Monsters: Life Before Dinosaurs" , it`s easily my favorite documentary series ever.

Wasn't there two mini-series made by Walking With, but Nigel Marvin(I think that was his name) was in it. He did a Ocean theme and just a regular dinosaur theme. And it wasn't prehistoric park either. Actually, give me a few minutes, I'll find it. Edit: Got it! He did a two part mini series extending Walking with Dinosaurs called: "Chased by Dinosaurs" and the Episodes were - A Walking with Dinosaur's Special: The Giant Claw
- A walking with Dinosaur's Special: Land of Giants
And then he did another special mini-series, called: "Sea Monsters: A Walking with Dinosaurs Trilogy"

Ive seen all of the above and I loved them. It was such a cool idea to have Nigel Marvin do a prehistoric documentary.
Sadly my Walking With Dinosaurs DVD doesn't work properly anymore.

There've been so many dinosaur shows trying to top the Walking With Series, but they all come out looking off and unrealistic. It's not the CGI, it's the way they try to choreograph the scenes to look hype-realistic and comes out all wrong. And it is the horrible beginner-level CGI skilled the directors hire.

Another thing that could be done is that someone provides a planet they either generated in-game or made in the Sandbox Mode, and the participants have to evolve an organism that lives on it and fills part of the ecosystem. Pictures showing the evolution and the organism fulfilling its niche would probably also be good.

Though doing one in "story mode" would be interesting as well. I'd think you could make a bit comical if you get a glitchy planet.
