IF THIS THREAD IS STICKIED, ONE OF OUR SITES IS DOWN.Some of you might have noticed the dev forum isn't responding at the moment. Moopli can fix it, but he's away for a while. I thought it might be useful to have a master thread to post in whenever the dev forum or website go down, which can then be stickied as an announcement if that does happen. Post here if you notice one of our main websites experiencing connection problems and we'll get to it.

Is this for anyone or only dev forum members?

Anybody really, and it applies to the website as well.

Since the dev forums appear to be back up, this thread is now un-stickied.

Is it just me or has the website been going offline a lot recently? I keep getting a 502 bad gateway error, which moopli said was due to heavy traffic, but the traffic's no worse than it's been for most of the website's history. That doesn't rule out the possibility of a bot influx though, which I'd be able to check for on Wordpress if I could actually access the site.

I've been on and off here as well as the main site today and all last night. I haven't had any issues.

Well, I seem to have fixed it from the Wordpress admin tools. It took about five minutes for each page to load as I did it, but now it's working fine.

We've been having intermittent connection issues with it for the last month because a group of bot networks have been spamming a file which could allow them to hack the site. Our password is strong enough that we're not worried about them actually getting in but they're sometimes making so many requests per second that the server gives up. Even after manually blocking them or their network the server can't handle the frequency of requests, and then the bots just move to another IP address to circumvent the block. I've asked Moopli to take a look at it when he has time (since he has access to all the back-end stuff and I have access to all the front-end).

Should be back for everyone. Spam it and see if it breaks again!

Should be back for everyone. Spam it and see if it breaks again! Or, we can spam the bots. Perfect solution, but not a pure substance.
