Ooo! I love this thread already! I have two schnauzers. The male is named Wizard and the female is Kiva I got Wizard on my 6th birthday, so he's been in our family for exactly 12 years as of yesterday, which would make him 12 years old as well. He was a really strong dog. Very muscular lots of attitude and energy. He didn't like being told what to do and if you told him to move or something he'd stare and growl at you until YOU moved. I've turned that growling thing into a game where I put my face against his and we take turns growling at each other. He is a good dog though honestly. In his old age he's lost a lot of his strength and energy. He's still super playful but he doesn't have nearly as much stamina as he used to. His heart doesn't beat regularly anymore and if he overexerts himself, it seems like he goes gets a seizure. He collapses and starts flailing wildly :/ he's also gone blind too. He still manages to find his toys okay though hah. He doesn't growl as much anymore. He just sleeps a lot. Kiva, however was a gift for my mom. We got her a year after Wizard, and she's been with us for 11 years making her 11 years old. She used to be afraid of me for a really long time, but over the years she's become more accustomed to me. She's not very playful but she is really cuddly. She will weave through your legs like a cat and lay down next to you and start rolling on top of you. She's a sweetheart and a cutie pie. She used to attack strangers, but that's old news. Now she sleeps a lot, though that's not much of a change as she was never very energetic.

I have a cat called Sherry...and no that's not because my family have some fixation with alcohol; that was her name when we got her and it stuck. She's about 3 years old and we've had her for just over two years. She's a very pretty cat but she's got the attitude that goes with it; I feel we rent the house from her and that all the objects in it are only borrowed by us. I let her off with the attitude though because it's funny and she was really really ill in the first year of her life. She also has a toy mouse which she's had since we got her that she carries around with her. She's also really friendly. For example, she will follow you when you walk up the road and even rub herself against strange builders.
Oh and my sister has a few fish but I don't get involved with them.

My family has 5 pets total: 3 ctas, 1 dog and 1 guinea pig. The first cat we got is named Puff. We got her back before I was even born and as of now she`s 11. She used to be really energetic but thats changed slightly, she is still active but also likes to nap alot. I also refer to her as the 'Bipolar Cat' because you can pet her and she`ll purr and purr and then suddenly snarl and nip at your hand. She`s also the dominant cat of the house and doesn`t like it when the other cats get close to her. The second cat is named Toni. We got her when I was 9 and currently she`s 5. She`s probably the least energetic of our three cats and as a result she is quite...pudgy. She basically eats and sleeps all day and hollers at doors at night (she doesn`t like closed doors for some reason :/) Our latest cat is called Willow. She`s our youngest cat at only 3. She is, without a doubt, the most energetic of our cats. She spends most of her time running around playing with whatever is in sight (feathers, chairs, the other cats, etc.). Also, despite now being three, she still looks, acts and even sounds like a kitten. Our dog is about 8 and named Marley. She`s been in our family even since I was 4 and always follows our mom around. Whenever mom leaves the house, she sits in a chair near the window and acts all sad. The guinea pig is 3 and named Charlotte. My sister got her after our very first guinea pig died( ). We also refer to her as the 'Shortbus' because she is kind of dumb (I.E, she`ll try to eat anything regardless of whether something is edible or not).

I've got a little derpy turtle called Morla. She is a razorbacked musk turtle (Sternotherus Carinatus). Morla lives in an aquarium with snails, red fire shrimps and bushymouth catfish and a lots of java moss. I trace her growth in weight and size to figure out, which mathematical equation describes the growth best. If anyone is more interested, i tend to take pictures of her. Its a little hobby of mine, because its not that easy to take acceptable photographs through the glass. dropbox-folder with the best picturesIts weird to read the word Schnauzers. Schnauzer (engl. mustache) is a german word, which is singular and plural at once. Its probably the same, as if you say 'many sheeps/fishs'.

The fish is like: NOPE, not going back into the water! It's wet, it's cold and I'm finally gonna evolve into a bear. OR A BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY!!! timetraveler22: But you are going suffocate! The fish: NNNNNNOPE!!! Don't tell me what to do. You are not my real mom! But seriously, this thingy looks great. Why does it crawl onto land? Does it find safety or food on the shore in its natural environment? Doesn't it fear you? I mean you can get some animals to loose fear of humans. By giving it food and always being there. But does this work with fish?

We have one dog. He's an unusually large black lab, he's like a brother to me, even when he steals and eats my pot noodle , although too smart for his own good sometimes I love him never the less

Does it find safety or food on the shore in its natural environment? Doesn't it fear you? I mean you can get some animals to loose fear of humans. By giving it food and always being there. But does this work with fish? I has evolved to live on land for many things. 1. The water in it's environment is literally toxic for most fish. A mudskipper can tolerate it, but goes onto land to "take a breather" 2. Mudskippers primarily eat on land. They have found out what a giver the tide can be for food. Washed up plankton and algae always wash up onto shore a mudskippers have found the "clean up" niche to take care of that. They'll also eat bugs. 3. Mudskippers are not the top of the food chain. Many predators will live in the water. So, there's only one way to escape. 4. Again with the toxicity, the water in a mudskipper habitat is oxygen depleted. So most species of mudskipper(both aquatic and terrestrial types) have adapted to breathe air. Funny thing is, unlike most air breathing fish, they don't have the key ingredient to breath, a lung! Most fish retain a swim bladder for buoyancy, and lots of fish use it as a primitive lung(like lungfish, catfish, bettas ect.), however mudskippers are a type of goby, and gobies lack a swim bladder because they live on the bottom of the ocean. So, mudskippers have modified their gills like SCUBA cylinders to retain air. This makes their gills inefficient to breathe underwater so they NEED air. They also breathe with their skin like amphibians. 5. Their eyes can see through air better than water. Just like us, when they see underwater, it's all blurry. It doesn't fear me as much as it used to. He's mad at me now, because I put him in a new home, but he's walked on my hand when I feed him. In the wild, we are as scary as any bird. If you want to know some other things about mudskippers, it's a good idea to skim through this website. An entire website about mudskippers, oh my! Oh, and maybe the devs can look at this too, there's a lot of biochemistry that might serve well in the game.
