So I've been thinking, if the game is going to be realistic, creatures will eventually have to sleep. But how is it gonna work? Does the player's creature automatically fall asleep when its energy level is at the lowest or does the player press a specific button to do so when needed? And while it is sleeping, it might be boring for the player so maybe there could be a fast forward button, plus it will be vulnerable to potential nocturnal predators.

I think normally your creature would be set to sleep at a certain time by the Behaviour Editor, probably when you reach the kind of area you designated in the BE. For example, you could set your creature to sleep at low light levels in caves. Perhaps you could be notified subtly that you should find a sleeping place.
However, if you run out of energy, I think at the moment, the creature would faint and sleep for a period of time for the energy to go up to about 1/4. Obviously, during this time they would be vulnerable to predators. Expanding on this, in the real world, sleeping animals would be vulnerable to predators as they sleep so it's good if we have it in Thrive. This could be avoided by some sort of behaviour that gets your creature to conceal itself during sleep.
Oh, and about the fast forward button I don't know but it would be a good idea.

Well maybe your creature doesn't sleep like a human or a dog would. In the ocean, many animals go into a trance that is still semiconscious and is still alert for danger. This imcludes many reef and open ocean fish, whales, and dolphins. And also, it would be realistic to have animals that hibernate during part of the year, like a desert road or a groundhog.

Very true. I don't know if that'll be included but I think hibernation will be.

I'm relaunch this topic, instead of create a new one. If we base ourselves on sleeping trends, this mean we could play as nocturnal specie, isn't it ?

That is correct.
