So I know that domestication is gonna be in the game, but could there be wild animals wandering around the cities and even adapting to this kind of environnement?

It's a cool idea and I wondered about it too. My first thought was of the player being the animal in the cities and adapting to live in it. However, this probably would not be possible as the game would have to generate cities to such a level of detail that it does not look weird to walk around in.
But what if it was NPC creatures. Could they be allowed to enter cities and adapt to life there? The city wouldn't need to be in detail as the perspective of the NPC wouldn't matter. However, I then realised that, yes, it would. When the player reaches Ascension they may choose to possess one of these creatures and so their view could be seen. Or, creatures in the city could not be able to be possessed. But then this may be annoying or limiting to the player.
To sum up, the cities would have to be detailed in order for this to happen.

They could range from city to farmland. The civilization might even bio engineer the species for either cosmetic pets or for farms.

You two actually have good ideas, and stealhstylel, I was more thinking about NPC creatures, and johnnykun, I didn't even thought about farms. Now what if these animals were harmful? Like some of them could ravage the harvests, transmit diseases, being a little bit too invasive, and so on...

I know it's not wild, but could you have zoos?

I actually thought about that, I think it was even discussed some time ago.

but about cities being detailed, i was told that graphics will never be thrives strong spot. although farmland could definitely be just as detailed as the rest or the flora. i am reluctant to say flora though because of the thing about completely different evolution of organisms, not classified as animals or plants.
