In this game, you'll control a nation from 10,000 BC up until whenever we all get bored of playing and go off to do our own things. The game's basically like this: 0. The 10,000 BC start date is as it was historically. 1. When you join (you can join at any time), you can pick a nation or tribe to play as. Nations occupy at least one province and are marked on the map. Tribes occupy only one province, and just exist implicitly until actually picked up by a player. You can also play as multiple nations and/or tribes, as long as you don't do anything metagamey like having them help each other when they should be bitter rivals. 2. Each turn lasts a number of years depending on the technology level of the world. At the start, each turn will last 100 years.
3. Nations produce focus points each turn, dependent on their size and level of organization. A one-province tribe will get about one, great powers of the modern age will get hundreds, probably.
4. Technology comes in five different branches: military, administration, cultural, industrial, and transport. Focus points can be spent to increase these. 5. Each province has some different properties:
Production - The type, and amount, of resource that the province produces Ideology - The main ideology of the people in the province Culture - The main culture of the people in the province
These will gradually change over time, or they can be altered be expending some number of focus points.
6. Each nation has some different properties, too:
Government type - The type of government that the nation has. Ideology Primary Culture
So, to join, just mark, or say, where you want to be on the map (and name your civilisation, if you feel like it):
Since it's 10,000 BC, there aren't any organised nations yet, so there's only tribes. Basically everywhere grey is a tribe.

Earth - 10,000 BCThe Earth has just started to come out of its most recent glacial period. The ice sheets in the north, while still extensive, are receding, and the world is warming up enough for the productivity of the land to vastly increase. Nicoli

Available Actions
Presently, all tribes have an income of 1 FP per turn. That means you have 1 FP to do stuff with. The technology level in any category may be raised by 0.1 by spending three FP. Provinces can be developed by spending FP, at a cost 1 development per FP per economic tech level. The culture and ideology of provinces can be changed at the cost of 1 FP per production. Nomad governments (hunter-gatherers, in your case) can migrate every turn, which moves them to a different province and generates 1 FP. If you move to somewhere more fertile, you might also get other benefits, though this could get you into conflict. You can also do roleplay actions, for various numbers of FP depending on how big the action is. If I'm missing anything big from the formal mechanics listed above, then ask about that, as well.
