I'm excited to play it! ...although currently I'm on my laptop, and my laptop doesn't run it very well...

You (the dev team) do amazing work! I honestly didn't realize parallax textures and colored microbes would make such a huge difference in the feel of the game, but they really do.

At least your laptop runs it...my laptop, like all technology tries it's hardest to drive me crazy, by say deciding it wont save the essay I've been working for hours on, although my cat also turned off the laptop during essay writing, thoroughly annoying me. Anyway, enough of my ranting. Good job on the Devblog! I was just going to ask how far along you were on it to see if I might finish it but then I saw this.

Sorry about that StealthStyleL . We have another two Devblogs planned and coming soon. The first is effectively done and we'll post it in a week or so to let this one rest, and the second is something I have a vested interest in writing, which should come out shortly after. You can certainly help out with Devblog #7 if you're still up for it though. Not sure what it'd be about, but that could be for you to decide.

I played it. My laptop was thankfully able to run it (although it was pretty laggy) and it looks pretty good, although the dark blue cells and the flagellum do seem to blend in a bit too well with the background.

My laptop was thankfully able to run it (although it was pretty laggy) and it looks pretty good, although the dark blue cells and the flagellum do seem to blend in a bit too well with the background. That was the plan If color is completely random, and changes as the species evolves, it will be subject to genetic drift (given the small population sizes). HOWEVER, color is not completely random. Sure, auto-evo doesn't care about it, but the player does. So over time, if we add varying textures for the membrane, tint the color of the organelles, and give the AI full control over the color, the predatory cells that hunt the player will all try their best to blend into the background, while cells that we neither eat nor prey on, will just be a random color. The player will act as the selecting pressure, and the cells that the player couldn't see very well will have a greater fitness. I don't know about you, but I think that's very cool.

Just let me know when we coming up to the time when #7 is needed.

It seems the new background blends in with the flagella very well. Awesome an UPDATE!

Awesome! But I've been having this problem since 0.2.6 where I can't run the game because my computer can't "run zero sized textures". Anyone knows what those are and how to fix it please? Thanks in advance!
