So I did a small, not thoroughly researched calculation. If we where to hook up every human in somekind of computing network (For simplicity's sake I kept it at 7.500.000.000), we would have around 18750000000 petabytes of memory. Or 75000000000000000 gigabytes. I originally wanted to find out what kind of processing power this human computer would have, but I couldn't find an answer I found satisfactory. So I did this instead. This was just for fun and I would advise taking this with a pinch of salt. Almost enough to play no-mans sky at full fps

Alternatively, they could just excrete solid quartz through an anus-like thingy and be absolute beasts.

I believe we should start a new topic, this is getting weird.

I just read the rules of the forum Hey buddy, there's a button called edit on all of your posts to, you know, edit it and add information.

So here I go thrive... from writing an important essay on the results of an economic simulation game to reading a thread about silicon based creature's quartz excretions....
...Sorry I spent the day so far writing the essay so I can't come up with a TIL more interesting than "government spending might be a reaaly much more effective tool than I (usually a very Hayek guy) might have belived beforehand -at least in the theoretical framework of the economic model I played with."

TIL what how mother Belgiumroaches respond to being swarmed by aggressive fire ants. It's horrid to watch but it is actually a quite interesting continuation-of-the-genes mechanism. (Skip to 9:31 in the video)
When the pregnant Belgiumroach is in danger, it will instinctively release its egg sack hopefully(though not in this case) giving the offspring a chance to escape and survive away from whatever danger was vexing their mother.

If I can not recreate this scene in game by the final release of Thrive, I will be surely disappointed.

TIL if you zoom out enough with google maps, you can start exploring some moons and planets. You can also tour a bit of the ISS. The most fascinating part is that you can click on craters and stuff like that and it will explain where the name comes from. www.google.nl/maps/space/mars/@23.3859806,27.8433483,22671583m/data=!3m1!1e3

I knew that you could do that using Google Earth, but no for Maps. How do you get to Google Maps; Space?

Eventually it showed the menu to go to other planets.

TIL that duolingo (A quite popular app about learning languages) is planning to add Klingon to language that you can learn. Here are some links about the status of the course: incubator.duolingo.com/courses/tlh/en/statusen.duolingo.com/course/tlh/en/Learn-Klingon-OnlineAll I have to say is: vItIvrupchu' ghu'vam (I'm looking forward to this) I do apologize for double posting, I only saw it after I posted this. I hope that, because these two posts don't have anything to do with one another, the transgression won't be too great.
