Greetings one and all.
I wanted to make a forum game for a while now and recently decided to just do it. As I hinted at in the title (which will change, don't worry) this is something a bit different than most current forum games.
So what is it? I wanted to make something that was a bit more coop focused than most other games. The game is a cooperative survival game. I have not done this kind of game before, so I hope it works and doesn't crumble like a dry biscuit. If it does end in total disaster, then we'll at least have learned that this type of game mode doesn't work. Now onto the actual game.
Here are the rules:
Actions:
All of you are able to make two votes a turn, each turn is roughly a week. Each action will get a roll with a D20 on the usual scale we use for most games. However, you can influence your rolls a bit with skills (more on that later). I will also take into consideration what your vote is. So you don't have to worry about getting impaled whilst just simply building a wooden fence.
The goal of the game is for you all to survive as long as possible. Iāll split the game up in āchaptersā in every chapter, an event will happen, sometimes even two. The chapters will progressively get more and more harsh until I either run out of ideas, you guys find the ultimate solution or if you are all dead.
Resources:
You all work in one team, all your resources are shared in one big pool. Two of the most important resources are food and water. These two will each turn decrease in a steady pace, unless some kind of event happens. Should you run out of water, youāll get 2 turns to get back on track. Food is the same but with 3 turns instead. Should you fail to gain food or water in that time, a dice will be rolled to see which of you will die.
Respawn:
Worry not however, a player will always be able to ārespawnā, so dying is not the worst that can happen to you. However, losing a person is not favorable, as they build up skills that help them with the rolls they do. Also, be aware that you all share a collective life pool from 2 times the number of starting players. If those are all spend, the game will be over.
Skills:
Your character gains skills from completing certain tasks. Having a high skill in something, will lower the required roll you need for it to succeed. Here are the following skills you can get:
Husbandry: taming and handling animals.
Artistry: sculpting statues, drawing or painting stuff.
Construction: building shelters, other out-and indoors constructs and digging.
Cooking: cooking food that doesnāt poison anyone and not burning the house down.
Crafting: smithing, tailoring and the likes.
Growing and harvesting: harvesting, collecting and taking care of plants.
Healing: knowledge about anatomy and taking care of other people.
Melee: how good you are at swinging objects to hurt others.
Shooting: how good you are with ranged weapons like bows and guns.
Engineering: installing lights, computers and other thing along that line.
Charisma: how good are in bartering and convincing other people.
Mental and physical health:
As you all probably can guess, having an arm blown off is not a fun thing to experience. Thatās why there will some consequences on your rolls depending on how healthy you are, both your body and mind. A simple example: Shooting something without a hand, will decrease the roll. If something frightful has happened, you can get a shaky hand and also shoot less accurate. If your mental health getās really low, one of you actions will be decided by me.
Combat:
I'll explain combat once it is needed.
I currently plan on keeping it on 6-8 people for now.
You need to give a name and color.
If you want you can also give age and gender, but those are not necessary.
One spot is already reserved for Immortal Dragon, who as of currently still can't login on the forum.
That's the mechanics out of the way, let's get to the: what, why, where how and who part of the game.
You all wake up in some kind of bunker. Many more however, are still locked in some kind of stasis field and vast asleep. You all meet and vaguely remember something about your entire species being destroyed. This however to you is just legends, as you can remember no life other then that of the bunker. After you all try to recollect what happened, a robotic voice tells you that there is a world outside the bunker, one that was destroyed a long time ago in nuclear fire. Now that the radiation levels are back to a safe amount, you are ready to return to the surface again. The bunker AI locked you all up to preserve on food and water. The AI has also decided that you all would be the best candidates to survive this, harsh new world. You gather some food packages, open the water valves and head to the surface. When the doors open, you met with an open sky and some abandoned buildings. Nearby is a forest and a bit further is a lake. The AI advises you to set up a steady income of food and perhaps start exploring the surrounding area. Shortly after the message, the door behind you shuts close and won't open again. As a last message for now, the AI tells you all that it sees you as potential threats to the others still frozen and won't allow you return into the bunker. You may only return once one of you has died.
With that reassuring message you gather your supplies and think up plan to survive this new world.

1: total disaster, Fiasco level, someone probably gets hurt
2-5: Mistake and something bad will most likely occur
5-9: Generally, could have gone worse, but not much accomplished towards goal
10-14: Making progress but couldāve gone better
15-19: Well done, you managed to get it done right!
20: Not only did you manage to get it all done, but something great happens too!
