I was looking at the official wiki and noticed organelles called Lamellipodes, And I remembered that we were eventually going to add Dirt particles and other floating debris. Would/Will Lamellipodes allow us to grip to and stick to these particles and follow their current flow?

Probably shouldn't talk about this here but should we be worried about Thrive being too niche of a game? Obviously I'm not suggesting "broadening the demographic" but I'm worried that if/when thrive will be finished it will only be really appreciated by a few people.

I don't mind if it's only appreciated by a few people, as long as I enjoy it...

Well, given that so many people were ticked off by Spore (one of a few games in a barely tapped genre) taking a whimsical rather than realistic approach, I doubt only a few people would enjoy it.

Fair enough point, I just hope some people won't look at it and think "oh it's just spore but different" (again, woo spore comparisons) and brush it off as just that.

Anyone ever screwed around in the Hunger Games Simulation? I finally got a pacifist victor (Palkia, from District 8), mostly due to the random number generator deciding that lethal events should be a daily occurrence. The Tributes: District 1 (Cereal): Toucan Sam, Tony the Tiger District 2 (Halo): John-117, Thel'Vadam District 3 (Star Wars): Yoda, Jar Jar Binks District 4 (LotR): Sauron, Gandalf District 5 (EEnE): Eddy, Ed District 6 (Portal): GlaDOS, Chell District 7 (Shrek): Shrek, Donkey District 8 (Pokémon): Dialga, Palkia District 9 (Fast Food): Ronald McDonald, Burger King District 10 (Harry Potter): Dumbledore, Voldemort District 11 (Candidates): Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton District 12 (WWII): Winston Churchill, Adolf Hitler
Highlights: The Bloodbath Yoda finds Toucan Sam hiding in the cornucopia and kills him.
Day 1 Ed dies trying to escape the arena. Donald Trump kills Ronald McDonald while he is resting.
Arena Event A cloud of poisonous smoke starts to fill the arena. Yoda slowly pushes John-117 closer into the cloud until he can't resist any more. Burger King and GLaDOS decide to run into the cloud together. Voldemort and Donald Trump agree to die in the cloud together, but Voldemort pushes Donald Trump in without warning. Shrek sacrifices himself so Adolf Hitler can get away. Eddy sacrifices himself so Palkia can get away. Donkey and Dumbledore decide to run into the cloud together.
Night 1 Adolf Hitler severely slices Yoda with a sword.
Day 2 No deaths occurred.
Arena Event A monstrous hurricane wreaks havoc on the arena. Adolf Hitler is sucked into the hurricane. Gandalf pushes Wiston Churchill into an incoming boulder. Chell is sucked into the hurricane. Voldemort is incapacitated by flying debris and dies. Tony the Tiger stabs Thel'Vadam, then pushes him close enough to the hurricane to suck him in.
Night 2 No deaths occurred.
The Feast Jar Jar Binks stabs Dialga with a tree branch.
Day 3 No deaths occurred.
Night 3 Sauron forces Jar Jar Binks to kill Gandalf or Hillary Clinton. He decides to kill Hillary Clinton.
Day 4 Gandalf dies of dysentery. Tony the Tiger decapitates Sauron with a sword.
Arena Event A volcano erupts at the center of the arena. Jar Jar Binks is buried in ash. Tony the Tiger is buried in ash. The winner is Palkia from District 8!

If the Sporum's set any precedents, RPs for kaiju, dinosaurs and Pokémon will show up any day now...

A Kaiju RP doesn't sound that bad though.... (not saying the others are bad of course)

(Harmless Doublepost)
In the Industrial/Space Stage, do you reckon that, when the Organism Editor becomes available through researching how to make organisms from scratch, the player will be limited by the amount of money needed to make the organism instead of mutation points (as in the amount of matter, and moving and removing parts wouldn't charge)?
(Also, what if there was a special Organism Editor for mythological creatures (assuming someone hasn't thought of that)?)

SORRY MITO YOU KNOW THE RULES I'M GONNA HAFTA BAN YA.
Just kidding of course. That seems like a good limitation actually. We'd be playing god but not quite at god status yet so we shouldn't have unlimited power over any artificial species.
For the mythology thing, do you mean like some kind of lore editor? Like creatures you make would find themselves into your civs generated lore? Because if that's the case I 100% support. That's a sick idea, but I feel like it's one of the less important features.

With a sandbox game mythological creatures would no longer be "mythological". You might find winged lizards flying around you planet fighting glowing horned horses. You could evolve your creature (I assume) to have attributes of a snake, lion, and bird. So in otherwords the normal editor would have "mythological" creature parts.
On the otherhand being able to resurrect creatures that died off a long time ago would be an interesting thing to do.

I think mitobox is referring to your personal species mythologies. For example if your creature is a winged lizard, they might tell tales of the mythological human, who destroyed their own world and thus came to the lizards' in search of a new home with magic staves that project fire and death. ...but of course no lizard has ever really SEEN one right? It's more of a society stage thing
