Any Thrive fans in the UK or mainland Europe have opinions on what just happened?

BREXIT happened (i've heard Departugal, Italeave, and Czechout are just around the corner). you forgot the NEXIT (Netherland leaving(yes that's litterally how they're calling it)) and the Referendum about France leaving (i'm to lazy to think of a pun)

I don't really want to bring too much politics into this forum but I can give you a few of my thoughts, being in the UK and just being old enough to vote. I personally voted in, although I was going back and forth for weeks and only made my mind up in the morning of the vote.
Basically, the referendum was a disaster, and I'm not talking about the result. Logical, thoughtful arguments for both sides were swamped by insane scaremongering, which made a decision difficult to make for the average Briton. Some people hate each other because they voted the other way, and now we're going to have a new Prime Minister in October that most people won't have voted for.
Only time will tell whether it was the right decision but at the moment there is uncertainty and an alarmingly large amount of anger that almost appears to have split Britain.

Couldn't have put it better myself (minus the being old enough to vote part). It reached a point where I didn't know what to think as I was questioning every source of information, and it all felt like propaganda one way or the other. Realistically I think I would have voted remain too. For me one of the biggest disappointments nobody seems to have noticed is that we'll no longer be a member of the European Space Agency, so goodbye British participation in a space program.* *Unless something like this ever happens again.

I feel like that's gonna be the US on Election Day. You either view Trump as the scourge of God or you think he is God.

Tbh, the referendum has barely effected my life or the lives of those close to me. Both sides had valid arguments for and against Brexit and I made sure to take in both. Overall I actually decided not to bother voting at all. After all, in the end, we'd have issues either way. Yes the economy crashing wasn't the best thing to watch but the FTSE is recovering, sorta, we just need to ride out the storm. The friction I see between people is a lack of understanding as to why the other voted the way they did. Most brexit supporters are not racists and xenophobes like brexit non-supporters seem to imply, while brexit non-supporters aren't all big business owners fearing for a loss in profit from having to now pay tax... Personally, I think the EU is quite corrupt in the way it's ran and should have just been a non aggression, trade agreement like it was originally. However I think negotiating our way out of EU regulations while keeping trade relations would have been better than flat out leaving. I'm done.

The Sporum's dealing with either a hacker or Zalgo right now. I'm serving as the local skeptic.
(It's isolated to the "General Open Thread," where spam won't get pranksters suspended, which is why I'm skeptical.)
