You decide to give yourself time to recuperate. A few minutes pass, and your bite has healed. The... thing's venom's burn has also subsided.
While you were idle, some of the other Sandfoxes decided to look into eating the Tuberilangs, to mixed results. Two are currently gnawing on separate mollusks (not accomplishing anything), two are trying to pry a single one open (with no success), and finally three have succeeded in uprooting one from the sediment. However, its shell is still intact and it has since been drifting along the floor slowly.
You have 5/5 health.
You have 3/5 stomach.
You have a population of 16, with 16 accounted for, and 16 with you.
You have 7 MP.

We should try to use our horns to pry open the shells. As far as a mutation, I'd say endoskeleton.

We don't have enough mp for endoskeleton, but we should try the horn thing, something to try to get some food

In the mood for mollusc, you decide to use your keratinous horns to pry the shell of the drifting Tuberilang open. After a bit of fidgeting, you finally get the tip of your left horn between the lids. However, you have difficulty progressing from there.
Fortunately, you allies have taken the hint. Three others embedd a horn into different fourths of the gap. Two more get between two others adjacently and push up, while the other two push down. Two groups of five try the same with their own Tuberilangs.
Eventually, the six of you manage to force the shell open, and, with a snap, the Tuberilang's defenses crumble, and the shell opens like a door. Inside, you see the real body of the Tuberilang. It's brown and mushy, and occupies a half of the shell. The flesh fidgets and pulsates with the Tuberilang's death throes. The most interesting feature, however, is a round, white stone occupying the other half.
You have 5/5 health.
You have 3/5 stomach.
You have a population of 16, with 16 accounted for, and 5 with you (6).
You have 7 MP.

You observe the halves, mostly the part hosting the unprotected body, but occasionally the sphere as well. As the brown, pulsating flesh dies down, you deduce that the creature has no "plan B" after its shell is breached. As for the white sphere, it glistens and shines in the sunlight. It's probably not organic, and serves no clear purpose.
Finally deciding that there is no more to see, you and your allies gorge yourselves on the salty flesh (+6 MP).
The other groups have also managed to pry their respective Tuberilangs open.
You have 5/5 health.
You have 3/5 stomach.
You have a population of 16, with 16 accounted for, and 5 with you (6).
You have 13 MP.
