How would Hairs affect the temperature of a creature? For instance would densely packed fur help keep it warm in a cold environment and would loose fur that has water retention be able to cool them down (sweat?) in the heat? Also would fur hairs be able to be turned into Quills or similar things that are involved with fur? Also how would fur be applied and grown, would it be dictated by brush and slider for length? (Sorry if this has been explained or talked about already, I haven't seen anything involving this yet)

thrivegame.wikidot.com/organism-editorThis is the current (but subject to change) concept for the Organism Editor. It explains how fur will be placed on your organism. As for the other stuff I'm not entirely sure, but the team is aiming for realism so I'm sure many factors will be have to be taken into account when growing hair. Maybe there will be meters and counters giving information on your hydration levels, temperature, etc.

Ah bollocks, we didn't ever get around to updating that...
It's not up to date, sorry. I'll see if I can find something more up-to-date, especially on the body-structure stuff.
Though since you're looking for fur in particular, I think that's still more or less up to date.
Hmm.

Ooo! I can't wait to read the new OE concept the editors were my favorite reads on the wiki

I, for one, don't have the time to put it together. We have various snippets on the old forum, stitched together on slack somewhat, but we probably won't get to putting together a revamped OE concept on the wiki, because put simply, we don't need to.
Sorry.
