Recently I had a nostalgia trip for an MMORPG I used to play when I was in middle-school called "City of Heroes". Oh man, it was probably one of the (if not THE) best MMO I played. So it was a super-hero MMO set in a completely original world, and one of the things that I liked the most about this game is the character creation. So many options, and with each updates you had even more choices. Oh! And the community was awesome! Believe it or not, but during all the time that I've been playing it, I never came across a troll (well actually, there were enemies in the game called Trolls, but whatever...) For a long time, I have been wanting to do a superhero RP but I don't think I would be able to GM it, so whoever wants to do it I would gladly join it. (sorry for beeing so late with this but o well ) that's actually a pretty nice idea , since i want to make my own RP anyways i think it'll be a superhero RP

If the Sporum's set any precedents, RPs for kaiju, dinosaurs and Pokémon will show up any day now... Looks like we're expected to have a kaiju, dinosaur, and/or Pokémon RP sometime. You guys know what to do.

I have a maybe stupid idea for a game, set in the 'universe' that we've build up in this thread. I have no idea what the players would do hough and i feel we might need more creature's for a good RP. What do you guys think ?

A Halloween RP? That sounds awesome! I agree some more creatures would make for a better game, so luckily I'm planning on "raising the thread" (like raising the dead hahaha) once Autumn comes around Edit: perhaps the game could be something similar to the X files where a bunch of monsters are stuck on Earth and they need to do things (maybe scare people?) without being captured/killed by the authorities.

Good idea. Maybe we could also add things from this thread now that we survived that one ? Making it more a 'general mythlolgy urban fantasy thingie' instead of purely a Halloween thing ? Also who would GM it, i would do it but i feel like my scientific knowledge isn't good enough for this, and i'm also too busy with Superhero

(Sorry fo incedential double-post, but oh well)
I have an idea for an Urban Fantasy/Mystery RP, in wich something very strange has happened in some remought village, it would be the player's job to figure out what happened whilst manouvring around the various supernatural forces that occupy the village. Player character would start out as normal humans but there would be a good chance that'll change somewhere down the line.... I'd kinda like to GM this someday if people are inerested, but I don't think I will be able to, given tht I already have my hands full with Superhero. But I'm not sure if it's a good idea, what do you guys think ?
An other idea I have, would be a game set in some kind of ancient ruin. Player would have to adventure through tis ruin, Indiana Jones style, and find great artifacts to bring home. I'm probably not gonna GM this one though, so if someoene wants to use it, their free to..

I recently played Starwars in a concert for Band. It made me want to make a forum game on here of a galactic war scenario. Might bring back the old Mito-hex grid for a map.

I have been gathering materials for the galactic war scenario. But I have a question. Should I use a hex grid, with very large amounts of space and direction, and the ability to easily maneuver around enemy fleets, or use a Battlefront II Galactic Conquest type of a map. That one there is less space to move around in, direct paths to other planets, and less ability to do creative maneuvers. Other notes: I am limiting it to 4 players, and will probably bias towards accepting people who post often and frequently. Star Wars Battlefront II Galactic Conquest:

I had an idea for a forum game on creating a language. Though I don't think I'll have the time to take it to fruition. The mechanics go something like this: each player plays some mixture between a god and a language builder for one tribe/population of speakers. all the first speakers will likely start with grunts but, and I'm not sure about this mechanic so you can change this if you decide to take it, the player responds from a list of relevant words(sky, earth, fire, ect.) conjured by the game master from new things to the player's people's livelyhoods with a word for that English word. This tiptoes possibly around the recent rule against few word posts so perhaps there could be an event mechanism or spreading mechanism to add story to the posts and votes. Just an idea because I have quite alot of fun making conlangs and a forum wide conlang sounds awesome.
Perhaps events may cause two populations of the same language to separate creating a new language that can be given to a new player.

Star Wars Battlefront II Galactic Conquest: Might want to take a look at the system in "Star Wars: Empire at War" as well. It has the same "individual planet routes" system as Battlefront II, but you're actually waging war in space. The way you actually invade a planet is similar, too (take out their orbital defenses (assuming they have any), then defeat their base on the surface), except it's an RTS. Space combat has a variety of ships to control, but, like land units, they fit into a rough matchup system: Fighters are fast and agile, and their lasers make short work of bombers; Bombers fire slow-moving torpedoes that pierce through the laser-blocking shields protecting capital ships' hardpoints (including the shields themselves); Capital ships fire powerful laser cannons that drain the weaker shields of gunships; And gunships fire flurries of weak lasers that take out fighters (and bombers, but gunships are still vulnerable to torpedoes) with ease. If you ask me, a hex system could work just as well as a link system, assuming each hex has a star system within it.

I just had an idea after reading a few SCP (if you don't know what it is, basically very weird stuff contained by an organization known as the 'SCP Foundation) article's. Maybe a game in which the world is breaking thanks to various anomalous artifacts? I'm just throwing out an idea here, given that Im probably not going to GM that, but maybe somebody could use it.
