I'm just really interested.
I do doubt that anything below a P.h.D will not get you a place on the theory team, but hey-ho.
It's not like I WANT to, mainly because I know I'm not necessarily smart enough to, but just in case anyone's wondering, the info could be here.
Also, the title means what level of education do you require to get on the Theory team.

Allow me to speak frankly:
While we would love people with PhD qualifications on the team (and do have one or two I believe) it's not essential. At the same time, we're not looking for high school "hey I know that mitochondria exist" people. We've had people apply in the past touting some level of biological knowledge, when it's clear that really they did biology in high school and little else. Just like real life jobs, qualifications aren't everything, rather we're looking for people who understand the topics and the issues which may arise adapting those topics for a game context. Having people join just to tell us to add ribosomes isn't practical. We'd prefer their input on the practicalities of it.
While someone on the theory team can get by on high school knowledge, the real reason for us preferring anyone with higher education experience is that they're less likely to give irrelevant ideas because they're familiar with the academic approach we want to take, and can argue their case much better. We say we don't want idea guys, when in reality all the theory team are kind of idea guys. What we really mean is: we want people who have ideas, but have a mature attitude about them and add insight into existing ideas. And of course, anyone with programming knowledge is a godsend.
From your post history, my assessment is you're not one of those people, at least not yet. I feel bad saying that, but it appears to be the case. Even so, we'd be very happy for you to create or participate in discussions on here instead, where things are less rigorous. Developers can get involved in those discussions, and you could come up with a worthwhile idea anyway.

I'm perfectly capable of being mature. Not trying to make a compelling case, or change your attitude; I thought I'd let you know. :cyclid:

Alright. Sorry, that was accidentally a bit mean. If you want to apply to join you can.
