Turn 0:
The year is 1740. You are a young capitalist travelling through England. My first forum game, hope you enjoy. Choose a Location: (For simplicity these villages don't exist)Alderthrop - A village with a large river on the front. Population: 1000 people. Most of them fish or farm the vegetables growing near the river. Recent investigation found a large deposite of coal. Hither: A village 2 km from the sea. It's only way out, a dirt road which becomes impassable on the wet season. Population: 950 people. The people dedicate themselves to livestock. A thick, black inky substance covers the well, but the commonfolk ignore it. Shinwater: A village on the interior of England. Population: 2300. The people of this village mainly work on cutting down trees and selling them to wandering peddlers. Everyone will start with 100 000 money units.

Turn 1: 1745 (Autumn)
Ongoing Events: The Age of Canals begins. A fellow businessman in Oxford came up with the brilliant idea of making a canal through his city. The profits are astonishings.
Hither(serialkiller)
The road connecting Hither to the other villages is flooded with rain, therefore making trading impossible. No wheat means no food for your people and for the livestock. Food Stocks are running low and low, and to top it of the local priest orders a church to be built, wasting the few resources your people had in stock.
Population: 945 (-)
Money: 100 000
New Hitherland(agentinne)
(Has the villages are clones of each other the same things happens, worry not when you start voting (next turn) they will hopefully become different. For now Just take the text above has yours)
Population: 945 (-)
Money: 100 000
Alderthorp(gabrielGG)
The situation on Alderthorp is slightly better. The river floods allowing the camps to be properly irrigated. To comemorate, the fisherman of the village have prepared a feast to prosperity. Notices of the great opportunities of coal have people of a nearby village come into the village. More houses are built.
Population: 1025 (+)
Money: 100 000
Time to vote my dudes! Sorry if this turn was bleak, but hopefully the next will be better!

Well, at least we have canals... Action: Put canals that rely on the floods to fill the canals up.

Turn 1: 1745 (Autumn)
Ongoing Events: Nothing.
Hither (serialkiller)
Try to improve the agriculture (+4 Just what you wanted)
The people of Hither take the empty space and build new farms, giving them more food for their livestock. Now that it is spring, the people can again trade with their fellow villages. Thanks to you, of course.
Population: 960 (+)
Money: 980 000 (+75)
New Hitherland (aggentine)
Build canals to allow better trading (+2, not quite what you wanted)
You have the brilliant idea to make the changes on the big cities available to the commonfolk to facilitate trading. While digging the foundations a flood came by, killing most of your workers. The canal ended up getting built but 50 people died. Atleast now you're safe from the floods happening on the wet seasons and can trade all year long.
Population: 800 (+)
Money: 950 000 (+100)
Alderthorp (GabrielGG)
Search for coal (+6, MEGA PROFITABLE!)
While the people of your village searched for coal, they stumbled upon something amazing. A whole network of mines first dug a generation ago for gravel are rich in coal. The miners establish some basic huts on the site and the only problem now is the transportation of the coal to the village itself. Mining is undergoing with over 400 people leaving their houses to the mines.
Population: 1200 (+)
Money: 100 050 (+230)
Coal: 3 ton. (+2)
