Space Engine is a program which simulates the entire known universe on a 1:1 scale (with procedural generation filling in unknown objects such as stars in distant galaxies). Here's what it looks like: It's free to download.

I love space engine! Terrified of the black holes though...

Heh, you should see IC 1101's central black hole. If it fills the whole screen Sagittarius would be a pixel.
I assume Thrive's space stage won't be on that sort of scale, but it's nonetheless great for comprehending the true size of things.

I understand where Atrox is coming from, since black holes are literally transparent spherical shapes of condensed mass which is so dense that its gravitational pull is strong enough to bend light into it and disallow it from escaping. Hell, they tear apart stars like tissue paper. They're also unstoppable thanks to their lack of vulnerability thanks to their gravitational pull, therefore making them literal nightmares drifting throughout the seemingly limitless cosmos.
Still cool, though. :cyclid:
